Old Testament is dead

Say what!!!

The old testament was a glorious and historical time of God’s people. He started with Adam and Eve and progressed with Abraham,Samuel,Moses,Joshua,David, and many other great men and women. But the transition to Christ as our New Testament has ended or died.

You see in Acts 15, paul barnabas and james were confronted with the teaching of the pharisees that to be believers they had to be circumcised. If this teaching was to continue, if would in sense cancel Christ’s coming and dieing on the cross. His coming into this world was the beginning of the end of old testament. Christ’s dieing on the cross was the end of the old testament of God, His ways are new in us now. Galatians 2:19 says “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God.”

My question for today is ” Do we really believe and live this way?”  It seems that we are still living under the law of Moses with our actions. We are so caught up in legalistic ways of worship, actions, and words that we come off like we still living in the old testament.

Christ has freed us from the law. Romans 10:1-4 tells us what the Israelites were testifying and what was different about it.   1.Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3. Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. 4 Christ is end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

This is what I believe what the Church is all about, God’s righteousness in Us.

Until His people  change from the old testament to the new testament, the church will not be the church!

This is kind-of funny because I have been saying this very thing for years, the old testament is an out-dated doctrine that was re-written so to speak as the New Testament.

I believe the symbolism/meaning of the old testament remains important to impart certain values and beliefs, however, for all of the “LAWS” Christians should adhere to you need not look any further than the New Testament.

    • You were in reality the only person that understood the meaning behind the blog. We have the christian community that does not even realize that they are stuck still in the OLD ways that they can’t see the New way of the new testament.
