Redeemed

Galatians 3:13-14 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us,for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree. 14. He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

I have taken alot of family out for dinners for special occasions over the years, and not once has any of the family  felt obligated to come to my house the next day to work it off! I just don’t get it?

Oh,Wait. My taking someone out to dinner did not come with any strings attached like you had to pay me back by taking out the trash for me.  I wonder if this is what  our christian heart is telling us we need to do? But why?

Christ by saying He has redeemed us from the curse of the law should tell us that it was paid for and that we don’t have to go and take the trash out.

Let me interject here and point out something in this verse. My observation that I have noticed that until the mystery of Colossians 1:27, Everything is about the children of Israel. When Paul speaks it is all directed at Israel, until Colossians 1:27. Notice in the verse in Galatians that the redeemed were of Abraham and Israel, but now it includes the gentiles. Jesus ministry was for the children of Israel.

Now let us continue on about being redeemed. I believe we have been acting like the people that want to take out my trash, as opposed to wanting to be with the person that actually redeemed us!

Why would we not want to be around  or commune with someone like that. He is the All Mighty, the Creator, the Redeemer, He is the All in All. This is such a powerful statement to just sit and ponder for days. He is the All in All. Wow.

We as christians need to focus on the “LIFE” of Christ in his Triune nature.

I think in large part we have missed the intent of what Christ was telling us in the verse of John 15:7, If you abide in me,and I in you…… We need to realize what the word “abide” really means. To “LIVE”. Wow!! Double Wow!! Isn’t this exactly what God was asking Adam to have? Live,Life. If this is all God is offering why do we need anything else?

If we were to live with Him,and Us with Him, what a awesome eternal “LIFE”

Have you looked back?

Heritage, ancestry, do we really know where we have come from?

But, I am not talking about our family tree.

I am talking about the spiritual or religion tree.(I use the term religion loosely) It has escaped the majority of us to really understand from where our protestant background started from. And this is a shame! We have taken for granted that the theology of our belief is sound.

I am torn by what the average christian should spend some time on our “heritage” of christian beliefs. Some are more than others. Our duty should not be as to be assuming anything. Our timeline of understanding the bible has almost been totally been given us through the protestant reformation back in the 16th century. We have given this time as a religious monument to our beliefs. It has boxed us in to understanding of God.

I fear that we have been shielded or been in a bubble by the circumstances that we been in because of the church scene. I believe that our lackadaisical effort on our part has led us to this point.

I see that we have missed something that is very relevant to God. It is that we as His people,His Bride,His Church, has got to begin with us individually. I don’t think that we are sold out to Him. The issue with this is very scary to us, and we don’t want to take the first step to do it. We as humans think in human ways and terms. There lies the problem. I feel that we don’t really see God in the form that He is. Until we as individuals claim Him and actually see God for who “He” is we will never see the corporate deity of His people, church or bride.

The Garden of Eden was full of life, in alot of different ways. Sure, it had life in plants, mountains, seas, animals of the sea and land, but their was another life that Adam didn’t see that was in right in front of him. It was God’s “life”.It represented “Him”. It was not all about the “things” that He created, it was about what it represented! We as christians still see the things that God created and not Him. God was “Life“. It was and is His very Being. It is the only descriptive word that He wants from us. This message is seen  throughout the bible.

This is where I believe that there is beginning to be  change of the paradigm in the christian realm. Let me be bold with this next statement, but let me emphasize  here that this is not me but the winds of change in God’s world that I see.

We as Christians have put the total emphasis on being Evangelical.

God’s Eternal Purpose before even time began was  not to have sin in his realm or to have His son die on a cross to bring life to His Bride, but it was to Have Life with His people(Bride)!

Re-look at the passages of Genesis 1-2, then at Revelation 21-22. These passages are like a before and after picture that we so often see on tv or print. God’s plan is in progress but it already has the end written. God’s purpose will be completed in a eternal way. God will build His Church!

It is finished!

1Peter 1-5;v3-4. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade-kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

The relevance of those words “It is finished” that Jesus said on the cross has resounded for centuries without any understanding of what it really means. Why?

I think there is two meanings to why Jesus said these three words. Let’s start with maybe a missed understanding of what he said. If one of my children are given a task to do for me, it is their responsibility to come to me and tell me that the task is done that I requested. This is the small, but huge item that we have failed to see that Jesus was sent on a task in this world to do from His father and tho it was a task of over thirty three years. It wasn’t until He was on the cross about to die(which was apart of His task to do,so that the Holy Spirit would be indwelt in us) when He cried “It is finished”. He’s task was done. He told His father He had finished his request. His Father was pleased.

God’s work through His son was completed. His message was presented to the world of who He was,How we are now of Him,and Him to us. Christ’s resurrection was the “effect” of  God’s life being represented by Jesus Christ the  “cause”.

Statement: God/Christ has done the task, and it is finished. Why are we then trying to finish it.

He has given us a new birth! This is the exclamation that is in  verse 3. This is the picture we see in Genesis 1-2, a new birth in a new life. If we have died to the old world we are now apart of this new world/kingdom  with a new life.  Our life has been sanctified by the work of the spirit with just our understanding of Christ’s eternal  life to overwhelm us by His love.

May we realize that God’s work through His Son is finished, realize now that we have that eternal life with the Triune God.
