Have evangelicals missed the message by not understanding revelation?

It might seem obvious, but John’s understanding of Revelation holds the clue to God’s purpose in the bible.

But yet it seems because ministers are reluctant to really see the relevance to it, that they,we don’t dare read it or at worse, understand it.This is why you have never heard sermons or study’s on much of a regular basis. But doesn’t  it really matter that this is the end of the bible or the climax of the story As a matter of fact, we are really to blame for this! We are responsible for understanding the story that we read or being told.

After all,why would we ourselves need to know the meaning of revelation, it is only about the future, end times, or  about the heavenly things.

But let us rethink this segment of the bible as it’s importance to the Big picture!  Just by pure obvious understanding of a book that you read, there is a beginning and a ending. Genesis is our beginning, and Revelation is the ending. duh.  But let us consider one point to the details of the bible, did you know that there are only four chapters in the whole bible that are pure and perfect.  Yes, only four!

They are Genesis 1,2 and Revelation 21,22. These four chapters or time frames of God’s eternal purpose, is so simple and eloquent that we have seemed to not even see it while it was in front of us. These time frames are the only time that the Lord’s Creation or Kingdom was without chaos, or stained.

But for us to understand a story that we read or that someone is telling us is that they are starting with a beginning point and leading us for whatever long it takes to get us to the end of the story, or a climax. We as the evangelicals have been caught up in one of the intense scenes of the book to just stop  and be caught up in the moment to realize that the story continues to a much higher climatic scene in which in all ends  even in a more glorious scene where the chaos and dark night became paradise and Light filled City.

For those that have not read revelation, I strongly urge you to read it 2 or three times with alot of prayer and study with  some references from some knowledge of  interpreting or bring to light in a new way.

Let me point you to two different but eye opening ways to do this. One is a book by Frank Viola that is entitled “From eternity to Here”. You will see what God’s Eternal purpose is from the  very beginning of time or should I say before time, to God. I highly recommend this book for a very amazing God and His plan.

The other way is to check out Watchman Nee,Witness Lee’s web site ministry called “Living Stream Ministry” This over all Biblical study is more in-depth than any bible study you have ever seen or used. As with any book, I suggest starting at the beginning. This study it seems is coming from a much higher authority of understanding that it almost makes sense without  even trying, the pieces of the puzzle fit without even trying.

And that is the way God was hoping it would happen.

Let us re-look at what God’s eternal purpose is by clearing out misconceptions, preconceived ideas, our theology, our ways, and look into God’s eyes and see Him and His desire.

His desire is to have a bride(church, people, helpmate*)and to live in eternal glory in the New Jerusalem.

*This description of the bride ,I have just recently come across that bears some further study that could clear some things for us, which will come at a later time.

God’s Economy(Business)

God has a plan.

God has a story to tell.

God desires His people.

Before time even existed,God was going about His business or His economy.

First we have to see some details in the start of this business, then we need to see the final result of it. Then we need to see the specifics of the business, the in-between details.

Now, this is where we need to clear our mind of any preconceived notions or ideas that we have been taught or learned through the years. Let us really see what God’s plan is from the word.

Our journey into this plan of God will be in 3 parts with God’s business plan starting us off in this blog.

God’s design of His business is in simply terms-is to have His people,His Church,His bride, His City.

The creation of His people started with “man”, this term has always been used in the singular form, representing all of “mankind”. This should be our first clue as to God’s intention for Him. We should realize that if He didn’t mean to clarify this to us, He would of used different terms such as mankind, genealogy of man, people of many nations, world, ancestors of adam,or just everyone.

Man,as we know it insinuates everyone in the world. I believe that God in His infinite wisdom considers “man” to be “of Him”, it is His creation, His hands formed man’s identity as it is today. God did not want to create necessarily a friend to have, but an being that was indwelt with Him inside of His creation.

We can get real deep in this situation, we can go to the similarity of God’s desire to just create a being for Him to have fellowship with. Because  as you have seen Adam was lonely by himself in the garden, because he did not have a help mate as the other creations of God. God then created Eve to satisfy his loneliness. This is a very insightful revelation that we need to see and understand.

I have over the years have to love words. I love to read. It amazes me even more to know that how many books are written over the centuries, that are probably as many as the sands on the beach. But what is more amazing is God’s words(not the black and white words that you read but the meaning of the deeper words that God uses for us to see in His meaning of the bible that just blows me away. now back to our journey….

Our journey to understand God’s business cannot,I repeat, cannot come from our own understanding!!! our own understanding! This means from our human perspective, It is from God’s point of view, He is after all the one that is,has, and will tell the story of His economy.

He has a Divine nature, we don’t. Yet. Until we have come into His nature we will not understand.  The key to the Divine nature, I believe is to “walk with God” daily. I believe this is what God’s intention with Adam and Eve was. Their walk was cut short by their insistence of eating of the forbidden fruit. We have to walk with Him daily, hourly, and by minutes of our life to understand Him and for God to be mingled with us, this in-turn will bring us to the Divine nature. My walk with God is having less and less interruptions of any kind to allow me to be focused on the one I am with.

When we have that little stroll with God we will have glimpses of who God really is but we will see what God’s business is for His people, or even His “helpmate”.

God’s desire to have this fellowship with His selected mate is His sole desire. God will show us thru the scriptures on how we mess up, unbelief, non-trusting, total disregard, and just plain disobedience to Him but His love for a mate is just to strong to give up on us.

Because God know the end to the story, and He knows that it ends on a Happy ending, as they say.

Revelations from God

I wonder how many times we have read scripture and could retell the story over and over by heart to someone, who had never heard it before and used it as an example of proof of your understanding of God’s word?

On the surface this was all well and good, especially to whom you was telling the story too, but unbeknown to you, you missed the entire background of the meaning of the story. I want to take you on a journey now to tell you about such an example of instance of this very thing.

I want to input at this time a tidbit of revelation  here. God has, and always will speak, write, talk, about His people,His children,His bride as a single identity. He always has,and always will, this is His intent,to have one identity to call his own. He called his first people “Man”,we have used the definition as Mankind. So if we can take this information with us throughout our journey through the bible, we could have a different view of alot of things.

All through the Bible God used men that God designed to be like Him, some of these men were Abraham,Moses,David,Solemon, and Jacob.  Now even tho the journeys that these men were involved in were used as their name, it was in reality the whole people, tribes,or followers that were in the stories that God used as His People. It was not all about what David did or how he did it that mattered, it was how His people did what or didn’t do that really mattered.

In another words, God’s people were represented by one person in a time frame of the bible. Now, we come to Joshua, God’s man, or should we say His people of the time, are ready to come into the promise land(or of the Sabbath) or rest. God had felt that His people were ready to come into His fellowship by coming into the promise land. Joshua, the representing one,was to have HIs name and also God’s people name changed!! God has always changed the name of His people that have come into the fellowship with Him.(check it out, there are lots of examples in the bible) God’s people are now going to be called “Israel”.
Now this is where we can start to understand something that you really didn’t see in the old covenant(I will be using this term in my blogs from now on, I believe if we use this term instead of the Old testament, that we will pick up on a major revelation of the bible. I will blog on this soon.) The old covenant or OC for short, is,and was pointing to the Jewish people or Israel not individual people or stories or exciting happenings. The New Covenant, or NC from now on, was always pointing to the OC.

The Story begins in the OC when God is trying to tell His People that He is the One that was promised to His people in the scriptures. This is what is mentioned in Jeremiah 31:31-34, This is the New Covenant mentioned which is different from the old by way of it is now in our hearts and minds that is of God. It is not in our works or ways or institutions that will bring us into God’s fellowship. But it  us in Christ and  Christ in Us that makes His people!

Paul in the NC is always mentioning this fact that God’s people have been promised Him as their King, but have failed to see Christ to understand this connection of God

God is King, now and forever. His kingdom is ready we shall be His servants in the New Jerusalem!

Hallelujah and Amen
