I am a Witness

I will, ever so often import articles or video’s that I find very interesting or very relevant to our day of concern. Today I am going to introduce to you an amazing Production of a christian ministry that I think are one the best to do this. It is called the ‘Bible Project’. It is a lead by Tim Mackie and Jon Collins as co-founders, they have produced short video snippets of bible stories or themes of the bible to make the bible come alive for you. Their web site can be found at bibleproject.com for further research and information on them. You can also see all their video’s on youtube by the same name.

Here is the first one that will get us started.

What language is that?

We all have said that to someone we are unfamiliar with that has come from a different country.

Either we didn’t understand the dialect or just was unfamiliar with the language.

This is exactly what happened in the New Testament, when Jesus arrives on the scene talking to his followers, not of a different dialect but by different language from a different world. This language from Jesus was from God himself in the government(Heavenly) that he ruled. God’ life is different. (John 18:36) God’s language is different and it was God’s people were to understand it to be different than the world’s.

Jesus started talking to the ones that supposedly ‘knew’ Jesus and could understand his meaning. But it wasn’t to be. Jesus talked to the disciples in parables, not specific stories to get across his meaning from His world, the heavenly realm. This dialogue was made for the disciples to ‘work out’ what Jesus was saying to them and to all his followers. It is also our job to ‘see’ the vision that Jesus was putting out there to his followers to not only understand but to illustrate it in their daily lives. Jesus always communicated to people in parables, even to the ones who were in power of the Jews and also to Rome.

It is at this time we should understand that this ‘language’ is of a ‘Higher’ more spiritual or Holy verbiage to all that were concerned. It was if the disciples needed to be tuned in to the right frequency to understand him. And to a point I guess that is what it would be. First, and it shouldn’t be in our native language of human, but it should be of a higher Holy speech and hearing. God talks to us, we must free ourselves from this world of everything in it including our understanding of human speech. God talks to us thru Him and His speech.

It is with the understanding that it is our ‘hearing’ and ‘seeing’ that has to be fine tuned to understand God’s voice. It happened multiple times in the New Testament that the worldly leaders did not understand what Jesus was saying, let alone the Jewish priest or pharisee and Sadducee’s.

The ‘language’ that God speaks is of His Kingdom. Father,Son, Holy Spirit are the founders of the speech. It is when we become ‘in Christ’ that we inherit this speech to ‘hear’ God and all the people of God’s Kingdom. Remember this ideal next time you are reading the New Testament and notice that the disciples or the earthly powers are beside themselves to understand What Jesus is meaning.

Our thoughts are not His thoughts. It’s no wonder that we don’t understand God if we don’t know what language He is speaking. God and His kingdom is unique and wonderful if we only let it. God has designed us to be an image of Him….and speaking the same language!!

When did your religion start?

Did you figure it out? When does your religion start?

Where did you see your religion start, in the OT,NT?

What was the verse, what was the chapter, what was the book. Who was the person that influenced you? Who were the people that influenced you? Was there a theme involved? Was Jesus involved? Was God involved? How did you come to your conclusion of Theology?

My view on religion is ‘we'(christians) have tried to make a religion of man made institutions that have muddied up the waters of God’s relationship with His creation. This is where we must start our theology, in creation. God’s creation is the crescendo of God’s Mighty Hand. It was the Eternal Purpose. God’s Love was poured out on everything and in everything.

Our Theology should be pinpointed at the first and only desire of God’s Love, was to be in communion with His creation. God’s design was for us! He created us! He designed us to be His image! He wants to walk with us. He wants to talk to us. This God’s own Theology.

Now the middle part, we will skip, we are in the middle.

The eternity, will be the restoration of the beginning of God’s Purpose for eternity. God is Good.

Where does your religion start?

This may sound like a weird question? But where does your religion start in the bible?

Where does it start to get it’s basis and reasoning for your religion? What is ‘your personal belief’, what is your denomination’s belief? Have you ever thought about it? How does it come together? Who brought it together,and how did He/She, or they bring it together to form your religion? Think about this and come up with an answer in your mind or in a textual sense to satisfy your reasoning.

This is going to be a 2-part blog today. Another one will be this afternoon. I will talk about where my ‘religion’ starts, and why I think it should start there.

Times R A changing!

Christianity is going thru a metamorphosis If you haven’t heard.

I want to address the fact that why you haven’t heard anything, as far as the topic, not the subject of what is changing.

To many times everybody is caught up in their world, and they stay in it. They dare to adventure outside this bubble, they call their world. They keep their eyes and ears pinned to sights and sounds of this captive world. It is the uneasy thought of change, the hassle of proving one’s rightness, the need to explore deeper into the foundation of life. Man’s desire of being a follower into what ever catches his fancy. It is that failure to see that man’s truly desire to seek what their creator has laid out for them.

This bubble that ‘some’ christians seem to be in, is because of this ‘oh-hum’,this is all I’ve known, my parents did it this way, I’m to lazy to verify things of what I believe, the bible says it to be this way. These things that are said for the reason to stay in this ‘bubble’ of not wanting to ‘change’ or ‘seek’ truth instead of assuming the same ole same tradition.

God’s people must be bold and transparent to the world that they are to be “God’s people”, His body, His Holy Nation, and most importantly ‘His Creation’.

God has chosen His People. He chose them in Genesis. Adam and Eve He did. He chose them. In Plural form. In uniqueness, In firstness, in marriage, in Holiness, in Eternal Purpose. God’s desire was man and to flourish. What God puts together, no man can separate it. (paraphrased) The complete and whole body will be united in the restoration of the ‘New Creation’ in the future.

Expanding our knowledge in God or the scriptures will never be complete but the seeking God’s Eternal Purpose for His Creation will always be our Goal.

Neighbor

Sounds like a very innocent word, doesn’t it.

We use it all the time, even a variant of it to describe someone or someones.

I am going to use it in the literal sense today.

Neighbor : one living or located near another by Merriam Webster

This will be our definition for use in the discussion.

Exodus 12:4 says ‘Now if the household is too small for a lamb, then he and his neighbor nearest to his house are to take one according to the number of persons in them; in proportion to what each one should eat, you are to divide the lamb.

This passage points to the subject of the ONE living near you It is the one that is involved in the daily activity of your life and to those around you. (Let me take a moment to set this in context that might help in our really understanding this concept. Think not of the context of this in the terms of today’s lives that we live now, Lord knows that we are so different in our lives that it would take a book to describe it.Think of when this text was written and the social atmosphere it was in. People were living in very small villages, with very small homes next to each other, with shared daily activities of getting food at the center of the village with everyone sharing their crops, and wares of personal use. These were their neighbors.) This is our reality too, but on a much grandeur stage for most of us. We usually consider ‘our’ neighbors the ones that we are in contact with going to work, and our extra activities outside the house. (Which is actually pretty sad when we say that)

Galatians 5:14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”

It is this statement that we have to break in two. We have to start with the second part first. Ourselves, this is the example, that we have to use as the foundation as the next step of a neighbor. It is this identity that we must ‘be’ to build on the reality of God. God in us, and us in Him. This is the light that must be seen from every hill on earth. Our neighbor being like us; being as God in them, and them in God.

I believe that this term of ‘neighbor‘ is the key to the ‘Kingdom of God’, but it is not seen as the method of instituting this kingdom in our system today.The ‘local church’ seems to be the rite of use in this day of time. (This topic will always be a concern for me, which I will always have doubts on) This term neighbor is the cornerstone to God’s flourishing expansion of His Life into the world. It starts as a more recent term as a ‘grass roots’ movement in our more recent sayings. The small but unique beginning of such symbolism of the next stage of the kingdom would be the ‘community‘.

The ‘community’ is the next step to the Kingdom in that the communities that are grown in the same way as the ‘neighbor’ model. The community filled with neighbors, expanding around each other finally becoming a Kingdom of God.

It is from this ‘community’ that I see the flourishing of the kingdom of God, in that the ‘world’ will ‘see’ the people of God as the ‘light’ on the hill that will lead them to God of All. It is this paradigm of God’s Kingdom that will prevail as model of the true ‘Ekklesia’ of Jesus’s Bride.

But it will all start with the simplest of things of our lives, our neighbor: the one living or located near another!

Wisdom

I am frustrated.

I am frustrated in that ‘christians’ have not disciplined themselves to ‘search’ the scriptures for they point towards God.

I am a very inquisitive in alot of things pertaining to Theology, The Study of God. With that criteria in my belt, I watch alot of debates across alot of subjects of God,church, and theology. I have recently watched and listened to two debaters and their expertise knowledge of the bible and its words. The knowledge of the scriptures is there in the commentary of the debaters, This speaks admirably for the knowledge of the word. But it is the Wisdom of the Knowledge of the Word that is most important.

I am going to reiterate ‘my message‘ concerning this subject of wisdom of God in the scriptures. So please bear with me. Unlike an ‘Oreo’ cookie the best ‘stuff’ is not in the middle of the bible! It is on the outside(the cookie, itself) that actually is where the Best is, or where the meat is!

I, For to long have heard the ‘messages’ from the pulpit, tv, on the corner, and internet all about the issues in the middle of the cookie, this has not gotten us very far in knowing God and His Purpose. Lord knows the speakers have had alot of weekly admonishments to hand out to everyone week after week. It seems that also that they have used alot of those weekly speeches hundreds of times on the same topic over and over and always spoken to the ‘choir’ to hear. Why?

It seems that the middle is all about the ‘bad’ of mankind, over and over again. Telling us, showing us, and giving us examples of where either ten generations back or just last week we failed to live up to our ‘ideal’ self according to the ‘word’. It’s like reliving a bad dream over and over again, every week.

It’s like ‘they’ or ‘us’ or both are in a rut! I wonder why? “The definition of insanity is repeating the same mistakes over and over again and expecting different results,” Its no wonder ‘Christianity’ is at a standstill with no end in sight!

What ‘Christianity’ should do, is “EAT” the cookie on the outside!!

The ‘cookie’ which in this instance is Genesis 1-2, and Revelation 21-22 and ‘see’ and ‘hear’ what God design for Man was, and just ‘BE’ it!! after all this is what He is wanting for Man. Genesis, was and is the ‘beginning’ of His Eternal Purpose for Us! Well, I wonder what it would look like if it was to continue on from Genesis 2 had, you know what happened?

Revelation 21-22 is the Last scene in the story of God, that ends with the greatest crescendo of a story you have ever read or heard! It is the culmination of everything working together as a Great orchestra of all time put together and performed for all the world to hear.

It is when God is Totally,Absolutely,Irreconcilable, King of Kings, Lord of All, God of All, and We are in Him!

If we only could ‘See’ and ‘Hear’ that in the scriptures?

Oh, Yeah, We can. Take out the bible, dust it off and read Genesis 1-2, The Start of God’s Garden.

Now, Read Revelation 21-22, The Garden in all it’s Glory, God and Man, together again!

Can I get an AMEN!!

Identity?

When does something become something?

I was listening to a debate yesterday over a christian theology matter(subject is irrelevant for this topic),when I pondered the identity of when does something become something?( once we knew this we will be able to use this for everything, and I mean everything)

Does something become ‘real’ when I plan to make something in my head? Does it become real when I have started on the project in the early phases of building? What if I make it, then decide to make it differently? What if I just make it wrong that it isn’t what I wanted it to be? Do I have to wait til the project is done, and done right accordingly to me to be what I said it was going to be?

This is confusing! There seems to be more variables after the concept is conceived than just coming from the possibility of the said idea was formed! Do you know what I am saying?

Is it something just because of the possibility of becoming something?

Or is it a possibility just because I have the ability to make the said thing possible?

I have taken this road to weirdness, to come at something from a different angle!

The ‘Trinity’, Father,Son(Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. I believe in it.

I believe that the Trinity was,is,will be forever. period.

So by saying this, We can say that They ‘have been’ forever.

So by saying this, We can say that They ‘are’ now.

So by saying this, We can say that They ‘will be’ forever.

So they by ‘being’ at anytime, could and have been anything they desired.

They could be anything that was within themselves, just by the ‘thought’ of it, without acting on it.

or saying it!

God is unlimited in himself,God is everything in everything!

Jesus also is unlimited in himself, Jesus is everything in everything!

Holy Spirit is unlimited in himself, Holy Spirit is everything in everything!

This could be confusing, for the christian today, let alone for the average joe on the street to understand. But here me out.

God,Jesus,Holy Spirit are within themselves,(they are what they are) But they are also within the other’s identity.

They are three but one.

Now this all by it’s self could be a great study of the word. But it is not where I was laying the foundation.

It is the fact that ‘ALL’ things come from this ‘Paradigm’ of God. It is the reality that from these three identities of God that we have gotten alot of things. (We know this because we have seen history)

We have seen a Universe,planets, stars, earth,moons, man, animals, vegetation, women, son of man, ekklesia, Life,death,Love,suffering, healing, joy, hatred, Heaven, Kingdom of God, creations from God to us. (The list could go on for about a thousand years, so I will stop here)

The picture that I am trying to paint is the one that within God’s essence comes the first of everything, He is the Almighty. It is thru Him that comes everything.

So by this I will say that something becomes something just because God is God.

Kingdom of God

What does it look like?

Good question!

I am not sure that to many people have really thought about this to much to even describe it. What probably is the main issue here is what does it look like When Christ comes to take the body of Christ to God to unite us with Him. This will be the re-unification of the players in the Garden of Eden.

Mark 4:11 And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables;

Matthew 6:33 (ESV): 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Mark 1:15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Matthew 12:28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Luke 8:1 Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him,

Luke 10:1 he said, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

These are but a few of the descriptions of the kingdom of God, Jesus’s ministry was one that His being within their midst(Apostles) was quite exasperating to Jesus, I am sure, let alone the disciples and the followers. But It is ironic that Jesus saying to the crowds that his Apostles should of known what He was describing of what the Kingdom of God was, but still had to describe to them what the parable of the seeds meant. It was the parables that was for the ones that did not ‘know’ the gospel of God that he was saving them from this world of sin.

There many episodes that the disciples where in that was beyond their sight(seeing) or hear(hearing) Jesus in what he actually said or what He stood for in the many walks with him thru the countryside. One instance was the journey in the ship with all the disciples aboard, traveling to the other side of the lake and the storm’s were raging against them, and they were stricken with fear of death, when they had God with them all the time. This is the reality that the disciples were still unaware who Jesus was.

Luke 7:41-50 when Jesus tells the story of two debtors that owe a moneylender, and tells the disciples that the moneylender forgives the debtors for the money,one for 10 times the amount of the other. It is when, Peter is asked by Jesus that who should be loved more, the one of the smaller or larger? He says, “the larger”, He then tells him because the woman of the house has kissed him and cleaned his feet and gave him water, and anoint him with oil,that he will forgive her sins first, for over his love for him is little.

Another note to also consider in the ‘knowing’ of what God’s gospel was for the people of Israel, were their leaders during this time, the Sadducee’s and the Pharisees the keepers of the Jewish law. It was if they were blind to ultimate vocation from God, to be the ‘first fruit’ of the gospel. (The reason for this will be another blog into why this was)

Getting back to the understanding of the Kingdom, Jesus took under his wing, disciples to learn and ‘know’ and ‘see’ who Jesus was, what Jesus represented, why were his ways were different, who was his ways for? This was alot for them to swallow about a man that called himself ‘the son of God’, it was only shadowing Jesus for 3 years in the time frame. The disciples were being hard pressed for the knowledge of this man, It was going to take time. I don’t know if they really honestly ‘knew’ or ‘saw’ what ‘Jesus’ was or stood for even before He died. I believe that even after He died that only a few were close to what the purpose was.

The Kingdom of God, the Rule of God, The Government of God, Garden of Eden, New Jerusalem,Zion are just a few descriptive phrases that are of the scriptures that are use. To what we believe or understand about this is very hard to understand about this but it is also very easy to understand. God is the Creator,King,Savior, of the the world. His Authority is the utmost,Holy, and righteous act for mankind there is. He is the reason, for everything.

God’s timing is perfect

We hear it from everyone, right.

Why can’t you get this thing done,now? You don’t have all day? Time is money. You know the deadline is tomorrow.

We are a people in a hurry, a, to do what next? oh yeah, the next thing on our list, and the list goes on, and on,and on, and on. But why?

What is Life? For us humans, it seems that we can’t seem to be still for anything, unless we are in ‘timeout'(so stupid). We can’t just sit still and smell the roses, drink a cup of coffee, talk to a neighbor, talk to our friends, talk to our family.

Mankind doesn’t know how. It has it’s priorities of its own, that is more important to be concerned about. It’s never to be about our family or close friends and their ‘needs’ that we are aware of but it is of our own ‘needs’ that we must fulfill first. It is as if we are the only ones on the planet.

And now their is this other creature that has risen upon us that taken over our lives, the pity card that we are somehow mistreated,un-cared for, and for all intensive purposes just trash, and we want everybody to look at us and do something about it.

What I want to point out to everyone, is that we are the cause of ‘all’ the problems in the world. It is because we have chosen ourselves to be ‘in charge’ of this world because we felt that we could do it better, than the God who actually created us. Mankind is fighting itself over which ‘group’, religious sect, race, people, nation, can ‘do it’ better. It’s like watching some kids on the playground trying to prove themselves to be the ‘one and only’ “Savior’ of the school! This scenario is not just happening in the United States but all over the world. Mankind is fighting amongst itself to try and prove ‘who’ is the one to lead the world. According to history, it has never happened yet, and the odds are that it will never happen.

To the ‘Ekklesia’, I say, because we the ekklesia are only the ‘Ekklesia’ in Name only, we will see this continue as a reoccurring theme in our world. The Ekklesia is not ‘being’ the church. We are playing the ‘church’. We are playing the ‘those people in that building on the corner’, that we never see what they always talk about that they say that they ‘do’ and represent as ‘Christ’.

We, as bodies of Christ, are to be the ‘action’ of Christ in the world, in our neighborhood, on a daily basis,day after day,consistent with our message to the world. It is not the model of ‘Church’ building that is getting the message across to the world, it has failed in it’s message, it is when we as an example of who Christ is and does that will make the difference in the world. It will be that one raindrop in the water that makes that first ripple that spreads the ‘good news’, it will continue with the next raindrop, and the next raindrop, and the next raindrop and next the whole world will be filled with the Glory of the Lord in his Holy and everlasting water.

But as I started with, it is in God’s own timing as to how,when,where, and with who it starts with.

This is why God’s timing is perfect!

Stay vigilant o Ekklesia!
