Almost, but not yet.

This title is a take off of Jesus’s statement of “The Kingdom is now, but not yet”

This message has been talked and preached about for last 70-80 years, but it has misguided in it’s interpretation. Without getting into why it was wrong or what was wrong, we will say that it is starting to be put in the right perspective in people and is being taught or preached to the right avenue. There are alot of people that are spreading the word of God in the right direction, but they are missing a key ingredient to make the storyline complete and actually the ingredient that will put the whole story together.

The beginning. The beginning of creation! Creation was and is what God wanted. It always was. This is the only thing He wanted. To be with His creation. If this aspect of the storyline is not started with in telling the rest of the story as to God is again bringing us back to the beginning of creation and setting us up in the Kingdom of God as like the Garden of Eden.

The page has been turned and the real story is being shared to us that God is working in the world to tell his story to all and for all to know and become apart of it. It will be a joyous day when it comes and Heaven will truly be again here on earth!!

The Apologists

As I have said before, I read alot. I also find things to read that are old and new. I find alot of things old to find interesting story-lines of the scriptures, sorta like backstories to the stories. It will usually shed some light on the scriptures to tell us why, where, when and what’s of a time period of the bible.

I found one such as this in the book of “Defenders of the faith” -The Apologists. It was very interesting to read the going ons of society and their thoughts and meanings to their actions in the time of the scriptures. This small but ‘large’ book in detailing the people who were ‘fighting for their christian’ lives were doing to just live or be an martyr for their beliefs, is rather dark and somber to read. But it was the ‘Apologist’s’ that seemed to create a front to stop such hatred to the ‘christians’ of the 1st thru the 3rd century to calm the tide of destroying the christian stance in the world. Their were multiple apologists that were mentioned, but one seemed to be prevalent in his stance for the christian, and it was Tertullian and his standing up and speaking the cause of the christians and comparing them to their actual gods that they were serving without any proof that they were even actually a god itself, because of the non-existent of proving themselves.

This book is not to be found in the regular ways, but it is by way of public domain thru theological institutions and their reproducing digital copies of them. If you would like to find more of these kind of things, let me know.

My final thought on this book is not to credited to anybody, because it is not know for sure who said it, or wrote it. It is from the ‘Author of Epistle to Diognetus’ I find poignant coming from someone from the outside looking in, in to the mind of a Christian and says these kinds of things. It makes you wander if we are doing things right these days?

The Christians are distinguished from other men, neither by country, nor language, nor the customs which they observe. For they neither inhabit cities of their own, nor employ a peculiar form of speech, nor lead a life which is marked out by any singularity. Their course of conduct has not been devised by any speculation of inquisitive men; nor do they proclaim themselves the advocates of any merely human doctrine. Inhabiting, as lot may determine, Greek as well as barbarian cities, following the customs of the natives with respect to clothing, food, and other matters, they display to us their wonderful and confessedly paradoxical mode of life. They dwell in their own countries, but simply as sojourners. As citizens, they share all things with others, and yet endure all things as aliens. Every foreign lan·d is to them as their native country, and every land of their

birth as a land of strangers. They marry, as do all others, and beget children, but they do not destroy their offspring. They have a common table, but not an impure one. They are in the flesh, but they do not live after the flesh. They pass their days on earth, but they are citizens of heaven. They obey the prescribed laws, and at the same time surpass the laws by their lives. They love all men, and are persecuted by all. They are unknown and condemned; they are put to death, and restored to life. They are poor, yet make many rich ; they are in lack of all things, and yet abound in all ; they are dishonoured, and yet in their very dishonour are glorified. They are evil spoken of, and yet are justified; they are reviled, and bless ; they are insulted, and repay the insult with honour; they do good, yet are punished as evil-doers. When punished, they rejoice as ii quickened into life. They are assailed by the Jews as foreigners, and are persecuted by the Greeks; and yet those who hate them are unable to assign any re .. son for their hatred. To sum up all in one word; what the soul is in the body, that are the Christians in the world. The soul is dispersed through all the members of the body, and Christians are dispersed through all the cities of the world. The soul dwells in the body, yet is not of the body; and Christians dwell in the world, yet are not of the world. The invisible soul is guarded by the visible body; and Christians are indeed known to be in the world, but their godliness remains invisible. The flesh hates . the soul, and wars against it, though itself suffering no injury, because it is preve~ted from enjoying

pleasures. The world, also, hates the Christians, though in no wise injured, because they abjure pleasures. The soul loves the flesh that hates it, ·and loves also the members ; Christians likewise love those that hate them. The soul is imprisoned in the body, yet preserves that very body; and Christians are confined in the world as in a prison, and yet they are the preservers of the world. The immortal soul dwells in a mortal tabernacle ; and Christians dwell as sojourners in c~rruptible bodies, looking for an incorruptible dwelling in the heavens. The soul, when but ill provided with food and drink, becomes better; in like manner, the Christians, though subjected day by day to punishment, increase the more in number. God has assigned them this illustrious position, which it were unlawful for them to forsake.” How had all this come to pass? No mere “earthly invention” or “human system of opinion” had been committed to them, but truly “God Himself had sent from heaven and placed among men, Hirn who is the Truth, and the holy and incomprehensible Word, and had firmly established Him in their hearts. He did not, as might have been supposed, send to men any servant, or angel, or ruler in heaven or earth, but the very Cre_ator and Fashioner of all things. Did He send Him for the purpose of exercising tyranny, or inspiring fear? By no means; but in clemency and meekness. As the king sends his son, so sent He Him. As God, He sent Him ; as to men, He sent Him : as a Saviour, He sent Him. As calling us, not vengefully pursuing us, as loving us, not judging us, He sent Hirn. He will yet send Him to judge

us, and who shall endure His appearing? Do you not see (the Christians) exposed to wild beasts, that they may be persuaded to deny the Lord, and yet not overcome ? Do you not see that the more of them are punished, the greater becomes the number of the rest? This does not seern to be the work of men. THIS IS THE POWER OF God.”

“To your descendants I will give this Land”

These were the words that God gave to Abraham in his New Promise.

God’s ultimate goal for mankind was three fold from the very beginning of creation.

First, It was to be their God.

Second, To have all of creation as His people.

And Thirdly, To have His Kingdom in all of His Creation.

This was, and still is the blueprint of the architect, or the creator of the world. God’s design of His Eternal Purpose was to be fulfilled it must be shown in all of creation. Every part of the earth must be filled with his glory. In Isaiah 6.3 it says exactly that- “And one called out to another and said,”Holy,Holy,Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory”. This was God’s intention, it would be fulfilled.

These three things work in unison to achieve the ultimate goal of God, in that they are intertwined with each other to work out God’s Glory. God,Kingdom,Land. All three are as important to each other as the next one. I believe, that they will come together as one, one moment in time for the ‘shock and awe’ that God wants to show his glory to the world.

I want to focus on the Land part for just a minute and expand on it and with explanation. “In the beginning”, was the original start of God’s world, it was being spoke into existence with God’s voice, it was not to be changed, ever. It was the blueprint. Mankind did not comply with its original plan, but it is still in existence today. Garden of Eden was God’s Kingdom, it was also man’s domain mingling with God. It was perfect. It was God’s Kingdom, it was being shared with man, his creation. This was God’s desire.

To see a more illustrative ‘picture’ of what this was in Genesis, let me highly recommend a biblical company called “Bible Project” by Tim Mackie and Jon Collins. You can find them on YouTube and also on their web site called Bibleproject.com. Check them all out for sure, but check out this specific one for now to see an illustration of this concept-“Heaven and Earth”. Enjoy!

Now, back from our commercial! LOL God’s Land is all the Earth. Now, How this is being achieved is key to how this is implemented. The problem that has risen from this is that we ‘all’ seem to see it in the ‘old testament’ eyes of God’s institutional ways, that was only supposed to be an temporary covenant until the one to take it’s place was ready. Hebrews 8.13 says When He said, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear. This ‘New Covenant’ which is to be now in effect, means that the old is not in affect. All of it, all aspects of it. The Covenant in detail was for the Jewish Nation, This was now, not just for them, but for everyone. The old covenant was ‘marked’ by the Jewish men being circumcised, the ‘new marker’ for the new covenant was the ‘indwelling of Christ’ in His people. The food laws of the old covenant were specific, in the new covenant there was not any limitations on what to it, but this was allegorically being understood as something even bigger than this, as said to Peter and his vision. All of mankind was included in the ‘eating of food’ together in Christ’s name! God’s New Covenant was New and different, it was to be not anything like the old. Nothing.

God was no longer only in the ‘Temple’ and only one person in contact with him, the ‘High Priest’, the veil was torn down by God for ‘All’ to have Contact with him. This was the beginning of a New Heaven and a New Earth. God and Man together again! In union with their God,the people, in their Land. All of it.

I hope your eyes have been opened to the truth of God’s word and desire for all his people! I pray that you have, and spread the News!!

Community

This is hard one.

This one is delicate to explore, because it is understood differently by all people, but where it is really misunderstood is in the U.S..

The United States has lost their understanding of community in the last 70 yrs, because it’s migration to the ‘city’. You see at one time there was a community of rural people of the farmers and also of the ‘small’ cozy, town where everybody ‘knew’ each other. You don’t see very much of this anymore, they are all gone.

The days of having a ‘village’ of people with a small and intimate place to ‘just walk in’ to the local coffee shop, hardware store, grain store, or the corner grocery store to just ‘talk’ about today and our personal lives of our families is nowhere to be seen. This was ‘community’

It was that daily touching of someone’s lives with ours at the drop of ‘I’m going down to the market for some eggs, that would keep us up to date on the ‘Jones’s’. It would be also a great day to go back to the meeting place and give them an update to yesterday’s problem. It was being connected to your close community of friends and close knit ‘family’, that kept you concerned about everyone around you and your family.

I would like to bring up two such examples of this kind of ‘community’. One is, from across the pond. I love to watch the travel shows of men that lead the tours of europe and their finding of places and people, and countrysides. It seems that it is much different there than in the U.S.. The towns are much smaller, the ‘communities that are rural, although they may be spread out no more than a couple of miles down the road are very dependent on each other for fellowship, labor, doctoring, or just communicating with each other. There is a much closer identity of one’s place in life, that is closer to home in their lives. It is all about the community of people that surround them that ‘is their life’. There is no inclination to find a life in the ‘city’ or anywhere else.

On a related note, I believe that this is getting worse in the next generation of young people, which I think was handed down from their parents that there is a desire to go ‘searching’ for ‘life’, fun, new, or anything but ‘here’ kind of place, it’s like they are restless, no connection in their lives.

The second example of ‘community’ is that one that started by God in the days of the old testament with the beginning of the Jewish nation of Israel. God not only called them to be united in community, but he laid out the details on how to do it. God knew the principles around community and its success of being one. It was an ‘assembly’ of like minded people(all believing that God was their God). It was the living together amongst themselves sharing their food, family, shelters, trials, tribulations, heartache and especially their love of their God. It was this multiple connections of identity to each other that kept them as one, one community.

The understanding of God’s example of ‘community’ in a more deeper and awareness of God’s Love and Grace for such a Community will do us a great service in knowing what we are to know, and do for such a community in our lives in this modern world.

I fear that we have been traveling down that road of ‘this is the way we always do it’, has led us down some misleading practices and ‘ways’ to ‘get us’ to the promise land.

Let’s re-look at how it is designed in God’s community, and follow it to the end!

God filled people

I am serious.

about almost everything.

But mostly about God,Jesus,Holy Spirit and God’s word.

What I have noticed with alot of people who are said christians, is their lack of understanding that there are other people around them or around the world that are very deep and digging christians for the truth. The dismissing of anyone that only quote or read other references of authors or what I especially respect the ones that are in academia, that it is their ‘LIFE’ to continue to search the word for the answers.

I am one of those people that can search and study a principle, a question, a baffling statement, a theme, or anything else thrown at me all day long. I will also follow a blogger with multiple blogs with a theory or statement, and just read all the ‘for’ and ‘against’ rebuttals to the said problem and just see the angles that everyone comes from and check out their views. All day long, if I don’t catch myself.

What I am saying is that there are alot of God believing people out there that know things, with the knowledge of God and the bible. Just ‘Listen’, or read what the say and learn. The truth will show itself, or the opposite will be heard or read and you will know it.

Just as the Jewish community was doing in their daily lives is reading the torah. But remember it is not just reading it but ‘know’ what it means thru God’s mind and wisdom.

Eyes Closed,Again

I am going to piggy back off of the last two blogs because of the subject matter.

This one is still about the eyes, but also what it does when they are closed.

They say that when you lose one of your senses, on purpose or not, it heightens the rest of them. I believe it. Like I was eluding to in the last blog, by having our eyes shut by God’s design, and not ‘seeing’ what Good and Evil was, we were being sparred by God in knowing the heartache and turmoil it would bring.

I believe that this ‘knowledge’ can only be seen when our minds are free and clear of all other things of mankind, especially in christianity. Let me explain, our minds, especially in the christian circles of our separate denominations, need to be freed from this kind of separation and divisive thoughts. We need to just plainly start over, period. Clean the slate. Start at the beginning.

This ability to ‘see’ with our eyes closed will heighten our ‘knowing’ in what God is trying to show and tell us. Leaving behind all the other stuff of our traditions, commandments, laws, programs, preachers, rituals, daily methods, likes, the way it always was done, the church, the pastor, the leader, the whatever has got to be forgotten, and be of a empty mind. If the cup is full, nothing new and righteous cannot be poured in!!

Romans 12.2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

This is when we will be able to ‘see’ and ‘know’ what God is speaking to us. Mankind and christianity has been inundated with all kinds of belief, that they overlap, so different, or are just crazy to put into words. We as God’s creation need to see what God’s blueprint from his original plan for his world, his people, and their God was for.

We have a big clue in the first two chapters of his story. Read it it 4-5 times. Read it just to read it, then read it going in to see what God is trying to do with his creation, his world. Ask questions. Try to answer them. Genesis is Act 1 of the story, if we don’t get it right, the rest of the story really doesn’t make since, does it?

Maybe that’s the problem!!

Eyes Closed

To expound on the last blog, we will uncover something amazing and earth shattering in the first few chapters of Genesis.

As I have said before in various blogs, I sometimes will do a ‘negative’ or opposite contrast view of something said in the scriptures to see where this leads me. This one has led me again to another Great insight of God. Let me read you the verse to show you what I am talking about.

It is Genesis 3.5: “For God knows that on the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will become like God, knowing good and evil.”

Now look at the bold part of the verse, your eyes will be opened. What would be the opposite of this? For their eyes to be closed. Now the verse is saying that God wants us to have closed eyes. But Why?

First, why would God want us to know what is Good and Evil? Second, and most importantly if our eyes are closed, means we are walking in Faith with God in the Garden!

Now, go forward into the Word, the new covenant, what is the message that is being idealized?

Yes that’s right! Faith in God! The Gospel was in the very beginning of Time and we didn’t even ‘see’ it!

A Big LOL.

Just as a side note, carry this thought throughout the rest of the bible when you read it on things that bring up this concept of ‘eyes open or shut’! It will clear some things up for you!!

May your eyes be shut from now on!!

Then the eyes of both of them were opened…..

It all started here.

This was the beginning of the downfall of mankind.

We are going to take this scenario from the beginning of man’s time and see where it lead us, and what ramifications that it has on all of us.

We are going to start at verse 6 of Genesis 1, “When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. This is after the serpent had talked to her about what God had told them the do’s and don’t’s.

The serpent questioned eve about how truthful God was in telling them of the sincerness of God and his instructions. The first thing that the serpent questions eve about is the fact of dying if the fruit was touched or eaten. Now, this is where we must start in analyzing what is meant in the discussion of adam and eve’s beginnings.

From my perspective, I have always wondered if they even knew what ‘dying’ meant? After their ordeal of eating of the fruit, and God coming upon them in the garden, hiding in the bushes, what was God going to do to make them ‘die’? With God’s questioning them about what had just happened in the garden and the forbidden fruit being eaten, and the repercussions being giving out to adam and eve, what was the mind thinking?

(I am doing this on the ‘fly’ as I go in the ‘understanding of the text, so let’s work this out together) I may throw out various possibilities of answers or questions thru this discussion.

Something that maybe we need to input here that could alter our theology of things from here out in the understanding of the scriptures. And it is this : In What state was Adam and Eve in in the Garden of Eden? And by this I mean, Adam and Eve could not of been ‘in the flesh’ in the Garden of Eden. Why? Because no one being of the flesh will be in the Kingdom of God. So the question is, “What state were they in?” I myself am not sure. But our answer will effect our belief’s from here going foreword as you will see.

Let’s go over first the reaction from eve on ‘seeing’ the tree of ‘good and evil’. She said that it ‘was good for food, it looked ‘pretty’ and the tree was desirable to make ‘one’ wise. Now, on the first observance of the ‘fruit’, it was object of a first fruit of a ‘fruit’ tree, so it was for the eating for man. Should be good so far. The second thing was mentioned was that it looked ‘pretty’ to eat. Now, as we know from food from all across the world, that all food does not look pretty. So this is an iffy proposition for us in deciding that something is good for us just because it looks ‘pretty’. The third statement from eve is one that might be hard or need to go deep into what this really means but we will throw out some things for us to think about. Serpent’s proclamation is “For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

This quote is in two parts, we will take them one at a time. The first one, I am particular interested in solving, it is revisited in alot of things in the bible, so if we solve the first one, we should be able to see our way thru with the rest of them.

‘Eat from it and your eyes will be opened’, sometimes when reading a verse or passage on something and it is referring it as being positive, I will also look at it from the opposite view, this passage is one of them. We then can say that Adam and Eve’s eyes were ‘closed’ (allegorically) in this instance. So, what does this mean? First, we can say that God did not want us to ‘know good and evil’. We could also say that only God was the author of ‘Good and Evil’, only God’s wisdom can say what is ‘good and evil’. We as His creation cannot! For He, and only He is the Creator! So is this the way that we were designed to be, as God’s creation? So, let us take this as a good thing or a God thing. (for now) Obstacles ahead!

So, by going by this, God’s desire is for his creation not to know ‘the knowledge of good and evil’. The added text from ‘the serpent’ of us having the knowledge of good and evil plus we would be ‘like God’ is not to be known by man, for man’s sake.

Let’s take this a little step further, Adam and Eve were given a choice in the garden, to obey or not to obey. This is also called a ‘Free will’ by some in the business. Some say this is not relevant in anything besides this passage. But we will see.

Now if you are new to the scriptures, you will not ‘know’ what is coming down the road for man to struggle with in his journey of continuing his ways, or if he wants to change his frutility in life. Those that have some knowledge of the whole bible, knows that there is going to be varying thought processes of who or what is going to be effected.

We will continue on with this another day, let me know what you think so far on your interpretation of this or just a comment.
