I don’t know if I have ever hear any discussion about ‘the day after’ Adam and Eve chose the ‘tree of Knowledge of good and evil’.
What I would like to discuss is the ‘state of mind’ that God was in when this happened to his kingdom and to his people. Yes I know,we don’t or won’t ever know what that is, but we are going to just discuss the possibilities of it.
I believe we must start from the beginning of said story, even tho the event only happened in the third chapter of the story, we must go back to the first and second chapter to ‘see’ what God’s intention was and to ‘how’ he was trying to accomplish it.
God was a creator, a creator of beautiful and majestic things for the universe to shine in the eyes of the Lord. He created a world called earth, a earth that was designed for an image, an image of himself to represent the Holy one. Man was that image. Man was to be the crown jewel of his total creation. It was to be a narrative that was going to go on and on thru fruitfulness of man and creation. This was the blueprint.
Now, if this was the plan, and their was a hiccup in it, what was God’s thought when there was a speed bump in it? Just quit it? Try to get the plan back on track? Alter the storyline, take another tack? Or doesn’t even care anymore?
How we perceive ‘our’ God, is the answer to these questions.
IF you perceive your God as a Loving and caring God of his Creation in all forms. Then you must believe that your God is a Loving God. He is one that cares for His Creation and His intent. He is one that is not wavering or influenced in change. He is firm and stout in his creation and man. It was to be so, no matter what.
