Upon further review

(the voice of an official in football, after looking on video if play was good)

I have had discussions with a few people on the importance of the old testament(I prefer the use of ‘covenant’) in all matters of the biblical theology to ‘see’ what God is telling us.

Side note- My interest biblically has always more New Testament(Covenant) but I have since moved my studies to the old.

Tying these two things together, old covenant and God’s eternal purpose are so tied together that We MUST start from the old testament. If we don’t ‘see’ the narrative of God’s plan then we will not see it in the New Testament. And that may be the problem with the “Church” Today, and historically the past 500+ years!

What we must do to see it, is to not look at the bible as before and after narrative of the story with the cross and resurrection in the middle, but as a narrative of God’s Eternal Purpose for His Creation. I believe that God’s desire was and always will be the indwelling of Himself with the indwelling of Creation melding into one. This was the scenario of his plan in the Garden of Eden, with His creation and Himself walking and talking in between the beauty of the Garden. It wasn’t to be.

This beginning, is key to the rest of the narrative in scripture. We must remember it, as we travel thru the scriptures. It is throughout the whole bible. The Temple narrative is one way, another one being the ‘covenant’ way, that we can ‘see’ the desire of God and His purpose.

Let me just go back to the fact that I can see that the christian community has seemed to dismiss much of the intentions of what the old covenant was pointing to. I believe that ‘We’ as christianity have just jumped into the middle of the story, when we have started with the story of ‘Jesus'(Messiah) without knowing why He comes into the narrative. We have for along time seen Christ’s coming as the ‘end all’ of man’s sinful ways. But could it be something else, too?

What if it was a more amazing thing that God was trying to do? What if He was creating that ‘Garden’ scene again, with no possible way of failure to have man and His God walking side by side forever!

You see the ‘Garden’ scene was the foreshadowing of the Temple of God, which in reality was the ‘Messiah’ Christ, who became the Temple of Mankind, within Us as we have joined to Him.

“Your Kingdom come. Your will be done,On earth as it is in Heaven”

I wonder if maybe we have forgotten about this statement in the bible.

I think we have gotten all wrapped up in this ‘church’ thing that we have forgotten that God’s Kingdom is here now, and is coming to its fullness in the future.

I believe I know why Christ said what He said in His profound statement “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. Matt. 16:18

We have tried to move in on Him to do his work of his kingdom, When it is the King of the said Kingdom that builds the Kingdom. I have alot of issues with people in discussing this with the understanding of what this means.

A Proclamation, an announcement, a invitation, a phone call, an email, a letter, are ways that exactly the same as what the ‘Gospel’ is. It is a notice that something is new, different, or worth shouting about. The Gospel is proclaiming that God is King! God has stepped into his creation, in the middle of time, of man and his ways to say that “His Kingdom is starting”, it is building to a crescendo to make it full of Him.

We have missed out on what the scriptures are and were telling us as we read it the first time. I have told multiple people that I converse with that the bible is a narrative, a story that God is telling about his creation and his image in that creation. Read the scriptures from front to back, take your time and ‘eat it'(this is what is called eating ‘Christ’) chewing each thing 6 times(lol), it is a narrative, a story, to be told in this specific way so that we will know the character and mind of God and his purpose, his eternal purpose.

The story is NOT about a building(church) that we need to worry about, it is the mind and heart of all his images(his people) to be in Him and Him to be in Us. We are to be one. We are to be an Image of God.

God’s kingdom was in the first few pages in the bible. It is characterized in a more plain and bare example of what it was, but it was an illustration of what it is. We revolted. We wanted our own version of a kingdom. Let’s look back at history and see how that has worked out?! lol

God again gives his special images of God, Israel, as another example of ‘the Kingdom’ in the first of what we always think of a kingdom in our minds and our drawings. It is this that we need to keep in mind when we now continue reading the scriptures of the narrative for us to get the right picture. God is faithful. Yes, He is, He has created a ‘New Covenant'(Kingdom of God), and He is going to have it. He will build it, He will build with his son helping him. Jesus, Christ and Savior will be the catalyst for the dawn of the Kingdom.

Matt 6:10 “Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven”. This verse I could use as a major screw up in christian theology in it’s usage over the last 400 yrs. “Where did we see in this verse that we were going “To Heaven” at any time? This thought process has been used for the evangelical’s in their message with out any understanding of it!! I don’t understand it!!

But now that we know that the “Kingdom has started, and has started here on earth, and it will continue into it’s fruition. We can finally ‘see’ and ‘hear’ what the “Gospel” is and enjoy God’s Kingdom to its fullest!!

Praise God, Hallelujah, and Amen.

What if Adam had…….

Nobody ever talks about the ‘what if’s’ of the bible.

I always seem to look at these to see if I can clarify a passage by looking at the opposite of something and see if it had gone the opposite way, what it would mean or represent from that perspective. I have one that is very fun and exciting to think about. Sometimes, thinking or learning this way can unexpectedly can help you with other texts down the road. This is such one.

What if……Adam and Eve had ate of the ‘Tree of Life’!

Wow, Would of never had thought of that!

This statement has a few facets to it, if we dig deep into it. Let’s start with the first one. Adam and Eve ‘ate’ the fruit of the tree. Now we perceive and have always look at this story as a fleshly act. We ‘bite’ into a peach and we chew it until we swallow the fruit to digest into ourselves, as to make it apart of us. This is a actually a ‘word picture’ of ‘eat’ for us to ‘see’ in a beautiful description of what God sole and only purpose for his creation to be.

I have been ‘preaching’ this scenario to people that I know, and to various other people, to let them start from scratch in their search for God. It is this. For a long time I looked at this scene and said “We were supposed to eat of the Tree of God(Life), although this is true, it’s gets better, It’s not the ‘tree’ that we are supposed to it!, it’s the fruit of the ‘Tree’, Which is ‘all’ of the distinctions of God or all the qualities of God. Which would mean that we would be ‘of’ Him in doing so. His ‘Fruit’ would be ‘Our’ fruit!!

Wow, Just WOW! If only we would of done it then!

Now let’s take this another step forward. Let’s go to the new testament in a passage that will infer this same thing of eating of the Tree of Life. Mark 14: 22 While they were eating, He took some bread, and after a blessing He broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is My body.” This scenario of the Passover meal is the backdrop of this statement by Jesus. The Passover meal is a backdrop, it must be taken in thought to fully understand the statement by Jesus. The passover was the act of God to protect His people from death from the Egyptians curse of their land by God. The key point here is the saving of His people thru the blood of the lamb’s meal. It is then carried forward to the storyline now in mark as Jesus’s body as the ‘lamb’ to be pictured as ‘eating’ or being filled with His ‘fruits’ of His Life.

This reality of melding with Christ is the Holiness that what becomes us to be Holy in God’s eyes. It is what it is portraying in Genesis 2 as eating of the ‘Tree of Life’ would of been to them. This illustrates the Spiritual aspect of Christ as He was giving us to taste of Him. To become as one in Him. To be all in all.

Buellor,Buellor?

Everyone in the U.S. should know who this is in reference too. But for those who don’t, it is from a movie where a high school student is always skipping class from this one teacher to do things that he would rather do, than go to his class.

Just thought I would throw this out to all who follow the blog if you have any questions or topics you would like me to write about or would like any information on biblical topics, or discussions on anything related to these things. Finding out what everyone is coming from in their experiences to the bible or to following God in his eternal purpose is always interesting to me to hear how people know the Lord.

Just comment on one of the blogs and I will answer back or we can just get a conversation going to find where we stand. I would really like to hear from people from all around the world to what they believe and why. So let me know, Let’s chat!!

Your friend in Christ, Doug

Walking, Talking Christ

Life is hard.

It is hard fighting it.

We seem to be fighting life from the negative side or from the bad side of the equation. We believe that if we fight for a bad cause to make it better, life will get better. But fighting from this angle it can wear us down after time. In fact, our crusade could take us our whole life to conquer it. If even then it would be conquered then. This is just coming from a personal conviction, what about everyone else?

This way of fighting the negative could be considered a social fight to rid the world of the all the ‘so-called’ evil in the world. The effort that ‘our’ mission seems to be to rid the ‘evil’ is misguided in that God has vowed that this is ‘His’ job to fill. Man’s ability to make the ‘social ills’ of society, could be a disaster to all involved by the turmoil of what someone deems to be ‘evil’. We may be seeing this now in our world now.

But more importantly, who is to say ‘What is Evil or bad in one’s society’?

The other side of the coin, could be, no, It ‘is’ the way to attack the world. It is the standing up as a follower of Christ and the ‘identity’ that it upholds as the body of Christ. As was in the old testament the identity of God’s people was their identity of their law, and their own God. God’s change to the new covenant was to write the ‘law’ on the hearts of his people.

Our concept of what our ‘identity’ as a Christ follower has got to coincide with what the foreshadow of the old covenant. We must stand as representative of Christ in our world, such as a High Priest would do in Israel.

I saw an illustration of a small group of people singing carols in a circle, holding candle’s, with one being lit. The key to this illustration is the way that it is the right way to do it. You see, When one has the lit candle in a crowd, showing light in a dark place, all others are wanting to be ‘in’ the light. So there instinct is to ‘go’ to the one that has the light and be ‘like’ or just ‘be’ light.

You started with one candle lit(Christ’s light), with darkness all around him. You then are approached by someone from the darkness asking for to be in the ‘light’ with the touching of candles, to produce a brighter light. Those two lights are approached with another candle wanting to be lit as a light for himself, and for others. It is then seen by someone farther away in the darkness, that sees a light for direction, and goes there to have their candle(life) represented as a light in the world.

It is this model of God’s people coming together as one that will become God’s Kingdom.

What’s the message,Church?

With times of our society now in the United States we would think that the ‘Church’ would have a dominate universal message to All of it’s people stating what the whole world is facing in their lives

But I have doubts that that is what is happening.

I feel that, it is the same old message of what ever the season is, on what the message is this week. Why can’t the ‘Church’ see the world to use as the actual instrument of what God was pointing to as the crescendo of evil in the world by mankind to rise against it and seeing that God’s reign is there for a purpose. This should be on every ‘preacher’ in the pulpit in every church in the world, every week, every day til Christ comes back to claim His Bride!

Just to make things clear, this is not a U.S. problem, its a world issue. This is to be considered a universal problem of all christianity to realize, it needs to ‘see’ the dark battling the ‘light’. God’s light will shine everywhere, there will not be any darkness to be found! God is Sovereign. God is in control. His people,His kingdom and His Sovereignty will be reality!

God is Good.

Coming together……

This is a loaded statement.

It is because of the verse that says to the effect that We all should continue to come together in Hebrews 10.25. The verse is as follows- 25. not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as ye see the day drawing nigh.

This is the foundation statement that is holding up the institution of the ‘church’ of today. This is where we will start to show that this is going down a rabbit hole to nowhere.

One of my favorite words in situations like this is the word ‘context’, Context is where you find the true definition of a storyline. One of the biggest mistakes of christian apologetic’s is ‘cherry pickin’ a verse out of context, let alone out of background of a story. Let’s start with the part of the background of a story. The background of this story in Hebrews 10 is one that in history is in turmoil and uncertainty.

Our stage is in the Roman Empire where everyone and everything is under scrutiny of their rule. People and institutions and religions are being ransacked to have them comply with their rule. This also includes the Jewish world and the new Christianity that was being born. It was a threat. One of the ways of ‘confining’ the issues of a problem is to send it away. This is exactly what the roman law did, they sent as many Jews and Jewish and gentile christians out of the area or even out of the region as possible. It was a way to dispel the thought of problems of the future.

It was in this transition of dispelling of people, that the christians were being exiled to other places, not just one place, but multiple places around the kingdom, and out of the realm of influence of romans to give the problems to someone else. It is in this transaction that the story evolves in its statements.

Chapter ten starts with the telling of the old covenant’s unfulfilling salvation to it’s people and that God has now given it the new covenant thru Jesus Christ in setting them free from such a slavery of a covenant, to a one of freedom in Christ. God written in our hearts and actions are now the way that we live to be Christ like, to be a temple, filled with His Spirit for all the world to be. It is this charge that God gives us, to be a representative of Him. It also leads us to the fact that it is to be done no matter where we are at. Whether we are in this city or that city, we are to be Christlike, meeting with our other Christ like neighbors, lifting them up and being there in their time of need in whatever reason that it is. God is in Us. We are in Him. Stand firm and forthright in being the Eternal Purpose of God in all the World. It will soon be everyone around us to all say to each other, We are ONE in Christ, Christ is one in Us! Hallelujah, and Amen!!

10=2

Then God spoke all these words, saying,

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:2 ¶“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:3 ¶“You shall have no other gods before Me.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:4 ¶“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:5 “You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:6 but showing loving kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:7 ¶“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:8 ¶“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:9 “Six days you shall labor and do all your work,

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:11 “For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:12 ¶“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:13 ¶“You shall not murder.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:14 ¶“You shall not commit adultery.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:15 ¶“You shall not steal.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:16 ¶“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Unchecked Copy Box Exo 20:17 ¶“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

These ten laws are the basis of the old covenant. These laws were the sign markers of who God’s elect people. They were different. The rest of the world were marching to a different drummer. They were idol worshipers of multiply gods, all of which were of man made idols to worship in their communities. It was smorgasbord of deities that cover all your sins.

God’s people were under different sign markers as their identity. God was a jealous God. His people were special, they were different, they were seen as a very special people.

Then it changed. His people had not kept up their commitment to the covenant to have the identity of God’s people. It was unattainable for them to keep. God’s identity had been tainted in his people. These identity markers of God’s people was unobtainable. By themselves it was not going to work in this covenant. God had to prove that it could be done. Reaching within himself, He used his son to be the ‘people’ of God’s covenant. He was the reality of what could be accomplished thru man and God together.

This Last statement was of a different spirit. It was God led. It was for man.

This was to be the beginning of something beautiful. It was God and man intertwined together as one. God had shown the world that ‘through’ him it was possible to have his creation be with him.

It was God in Man,Man in God.

Now the new covenant, the new identity markers were changed to show this new identity!

It was two things, just two. They covered everything that was of before but thru Christ is was different. It had it be, it was thru Christ.

Those two things, Love God and Love everyone!

It was different than the first covenant. It not just thru man’s ability to be the identity of God’s people, it was now God in them that makes them God’s people.

This was a life changing event in God’s people.

But with this astonishing event comes some baggage, man is still carrying the old covenant around with them.

Is it a misunderstanding? is it denial? or is it still man trying to rule?

Why is man still using the blueprint of the old covenant, as the ‘way’. Let’s still use the formula of the old ways. See the ten commandments above.

No other God than God.

Observe the Sabbath.

Bring your tithes to the store house.

Honor your Mother and Father.

Do this.

Do That.

These identity markers are old, unobtainable for man. Man is only in it for himself. Man is jealous of himself. God’s people are now different. They are of Christ now. Christ has changed the identity of man. He is one with Him. God’s new people are now shining like the light upon the hill. It is the identity that God has wanted for along time. He wanted man’s identity to be the same as His. This is the picture that goes back along ways. God was considered to be up above. God was as high as far as man can see. It was perceived as God at the top of the mountain. It was there that Moses met God in person to receive the ten commandments. This place is Holy.

This is exactly where God’s identity is to be realized. Holy,God’s realm of rule, His communion with man together. This is actually the ‘The Eternal Purpose’ of God.

Spiritual Paradigm

The law was of a fleshly realm for mankind. Two things on this. It was designed for a mankind in the flesh. Mankind was human. This is the world that He lived in, it could be no other way, for him to exist, or do. It was an attempt to do right by laws for man, how ever he perceive them to be, good or bad. God made them actually pretty simple and dirext to the point.

It is in this paradigm that mankind was to live and flourish, only to follow those ten laws. Why then, were there problems? Were the ten laws to hard to follow, to many, or just not for man? What was going to be man’s laws if he didn’t follow God’s laws? Why would man not follow the Creator’s laws, considering He created everything in it and knew how creation should work together? But it was man’s misunderstanding that without Man to follow thru with his part of being the facilitator of all things created, it wasn’t going to work. All things work for the glory of the Lord.

This was the scenario of human paradigm. But it is the New Paradigm that we are in, that is different in all ways. This is because we are not in the paradigm of man, or humans. We are “in Christ”, as it says in Romans 8.2 “For the law of the Spirit of life ‘in Christ’ Jesus made me free from the law of Sin and of Death. Being ‘In Christ’ makes us different than what we were before, flesh. God’s design for us was ‘to be different’ in the world, but it was not attainable thru the ‘law’.

We were ‘flesh’.

We are now, in the ‘Spiritual Paradigm’. It is of God and His realm. To ‘know’ what this Paradigm means or is, is to ‘know’ God. Who He is, What He is,Why He is what He is. God is Eternal. God’s world is His. Not ours. He created it long time ago in the Garden of Eden, which man was not satisfied with God’s way and said ‘I’ can do better. (We know how that went, right)

We first need to understand Genesis 1-2. Understand chapter 3, on why we went down the wrong road. Compare Genesis 1-2 with Revelation 21-22 to see the picture in both of these illustrations and see that we ‘will’ get back there, soon!

Let’s go back to the first of the discussion that we talked about the ‘law’. The Law that we talk about can be the actual ten words that God gave Moses on Mt. Sinai for the nation of Israel, for which we seemed to have continued this ‘paradigm’ of doing ‘works’ to satisfy God to be righteous. Even in this ‘New Covenant’ that we as christians seem to say that we are ‘in’, we still seem to be following the ways of the old covenant and its ‘laws’.

Just think on this without condemning the statement. Print out the Ten Commandments on a piece of paper(or write them down), Now go thru this list of ‘laws’ are we ‘trying’ to do in our personal or your corporate life (church, synagogue,Mass),Rules, sacraments, bylaws, traditions, institutions, remembrances, and any other thing that would be an institutional regulation. Do any of these fit into the New Covenant or Spiritual Paradigm?

It is actually a hindrance to us by doing any of these to actually ‘Be in Christ’! We cannot serve two masters!

We are now ‘IN CHRIST’, we should be ‘being’ different, not as man did before. We should be proclaiming from the rooftops, that we are “in Christ”, and the ‘world’ cannot beat us, God will be Triumphant in the end! It is God working thru us that will establish his Kingdom. Not any other way!

Romans 15.29 “And I know that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of Christ”

An Epistle of Christ

I am always reading books. I have alot of books. I don’t read them to just say that I’ve read them but I read them so that I understand what the author is trying to tell me. After all, this is what every author is trying to do, no matter what the genre you read.

My current book is the “Israel’s law and the Church’s faith” Paul and his recent interpreters. Like most books that I read they are not your average read a book in a day thing. No, they are ones that you have to read, then think and ponder, then reread it again, and to check the notes on the said paragraph and check the references in the bible for clarity. This is a very painstaking way to just read a book but it is the way one should make sure you understand what you are reading. What is really funny to think about is this is the way that Christians should read the bible, in a very systematic way with using the references and notes as guides to ‘see’ what the ‘author’ is really saying.

I say this by the fact that in this latest book I’m reading it mentions 2 Corinthians 3. 4-18 as a verse which backs up the author’s point. It is in this scripture that I see that it includes verses 2-3 which I will write.

2 Corinthians 3.2 Ye are our epistle, written in our hearts know and read of all men: 3. being made manifest that ye are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written no with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God’ not in tables of stone, but in tables that hearts of flesh.

verse v also And such confidence have we through Christ to God-war: 5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves: but our sufficiency is from God.

Now this is a very important ideal that we must ‘see’ in today’s paradigm of the christianity that we live in. For it is a very subtle but important thing to know it the setting of God. You see, Paul was talking to the corinthians thru letters, when in his building them up in to continuing what they were doing in their community, He tells them that they have been an a ‘epistle’ to him as a influence of their love of God.

It was because Paul seen and felt the Love of God in them as He himself had that the Spirit of God was with them in the same way. He tells them they are of the same mold because their are both filled with the Spirit of God, making them equal in God.

This insight that I had to stop and look it to it as I was reading, is the reason it takes me awhile to go thru my theology books. I am always stopping to ‘see’ something that is a ‘aha’ moment in my studying. But with no regrets I am always chalking it up to increasing my knowledge of Christ in my life.

To take this a even further in the scheme of things, knowing that we are one in the spirit of God with our spirit of Christ in us, we must ‘see’ that it is and should be Christ leading us,all of us into Christ’s presence of His Kingdom(Heaven). If you didn’t understand the former sentence(I am always hoping that people understand what I am trying to say, in a indirect way, sometimes this is futile, but I try anyway) This should tell us that ALL OF US(no titles included) are the community of God, we will someday be joined with other communities of God to be considered the BODY OF CHRIST!

It is mission to understand this and then to act upon it by being an ‘epistle’ of all of man!

P.S. Still not finished with the book!
