Worship defined

This word has a plethora of misunderstandings.

I believe it needs to have more discussion within the assembly of believers.

There are some discrepancies in the the usage of the action. What are the issues of it are, I believe are the use of tradition and stealing of usage from the gentile gods. We will start with the ‘tradition’ issue first.

All throughout the old testament, the ‘worship’ was thought of as ‘where God was’, This concept was instituted only because of mankind’s banishment of the Garden of Eden where the heavenly reign of God was with man, walking and talking together. It was to be a ever expanding realm of God thru the multiplying of mankind. It was then that things changed to be one of a ‘pinpoint’ of a location for man to start again from a central location with God there also. This was the Temple. God was there. It also was the location where God’s chosen people to begin again to become the ‘image’ of God and to then ‘multiply’ to the whole world. It was a plan of re-commitment from God’s people to be who they were meant to be.

This ‘place’ where God was, was also the place of ‘sacrificing’ for the being of God’s people. It was a daily chore, a seasonal chore, and a yearly chore for being with God to ‘right the ship’ sorta way. This was an full blown production of the people’s lives with living for the sacrificing of an individual’s livestock, produce and time. It was also an investment for the people as a whole to sacrifice to the ‘temple’ as a nation of Israel. This ceremonial process was a never ending ritual. It was always to be giving God the first of everything that the person, family, or nation had, whether it be livestock, produce or themselves, to institute the meaning of God’s desire for himself to be first in their minds.

Another form of ‘Worshiping’ was by the pagan worshipers of the plethora of gods that they had in other nations. These rituals were similar to the forms of some sects of the jewish people. It was this that God chastised them for the ways of the world for being wrong.

It is then that the ‘Christianity’ movement was instituted at Pentecost and the formulation of ‘laws’,beliefs, everything to this ‘new’ religion was being made on the fly to keep it going. With the beginning of this movement coming from the perspective of the jewish religion, it was as a way to keep things rolling, would use those things of the jewish rituals. There was some alterations on what laws to keep from the Jewish sect tho. What is perceived as a would be normal transition to use the same things of the Jewish ‘worship’ of going to the temple, after all, that’s where ‘God’ was for the Jews, right. But I will take the hint from the scriptures, that this was not an option for the most part. It is said that ‘they’ christians would ‘meet’ in one another’s homes for the partaking of food and fellowship. This also was at times a struggle in the meeting at all with still the beginning of persecution of the ‘Jews’ and also from the Romans. It would eventually be able to use as a meeting place at ‘halls’ of publicly held meetings, thru the instituting of ‘christianity’ as an ‘association’.

The quote ‘practice of Worship’ was to be redefined by the ‘new sect’ of religion by it’s not ‘going to where God was’ to something else. This is where it gets tricky and messy, there are various convictions or beliefs that surrounded different camps of the newly formed people. First, there was different understandings of this subject, but the two main ones were from Paul and Peter. Let me just say that the one that we are using today is from Peter. The Hierarchical institutional one, with either a layered institution of Priests and the proclaimed ‘Universal’ church, with the much smaller hierarchy of just one leader with followers under him or her.

Let me quote scripture here to throw into the mix to see if maybe we are not seeing things right.

1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The Revised Standard Version (Oak Harbor, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 1971), Ac 2:1–4.

14 But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15 For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day; 16 but this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 yea, and on my menservants and my maidservants in those days
I will pour out my Spirit; and they shall prophesy.

The Revised Standard Version (Oak Harbor, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 1971), Ac 2:14–18.

As I read this I notice that there is a ‘hand off’ of authority from Jesus to the ‘Holy Spirit’. What I don’t see is the need for any other form of leadership or institution made by man. There was one such group in this time frame that was doing such as this, being led by the Holy Spirit in their individual lives and their life as a group. This in my opinion is the misstep that christianity has taken, in furthering God’s calling of his people.

It is the following of the ‘institutional’ paradigm that has gotten us into alot of trouble in both of the beliefs. I believe that Paul was not as direct in saying a ‘meeting place’ was necessary for the continuance of the faith. It was the understanding that Jesus’s Spirit would be the guiding light of his people. God’s people would be of a ‘New Being’ that would not be left alone in the world to fight the evil, but the Holy Spirit was a ‘light upon our feet’.

This action would be our ‘Worship’ of being in Christ, and Christ in Us. This is the ‘action’ of ‘Worshiping’ our God.

Digging deeper always pays off

The Bible is a plethora of information.

Starting with a bible study of a topic of interest of yours can lead to some interesting new and unannounced findings but with welcoming arms. I seem to do this quite alot with my endeavors of bible searching. I have multiple unanswered questions in my mind, and it is a treat to come across the answer on a daily searching for truth.

I have had such an experience lately on searching the “Origins of Christianity”. I will do a small plug for a recent book that I read, that covers this topic. It is “Christian origins” by Christopher Rowland this book covered a very detail of a plethora of things leading up to the ‘Christian’ tag being used in the bible. It was when the ‘leaders’ of the said group pronounced that the ‘assembly’ should be ‘organized’ and dispel any ‘non-truth’ in the Christian faith.

It was then that the writer pointed out there were ‘various’ views on how to do this. (Let me also point out that this was a pivotal moment in the faith, on how it was to proceed) This is where one of my questions comes into view. I have always wondered how and why the separation of Paul and Peter began. I know the one area where in Galatians that Paul and Peter had a confrontation of the gospel. Paul’s ministry was based on the uniting of the Jews and the gentiles as one, in so doing it imperative that it begin with the sitting down together to commune with each other in food. It was when friends of Peter(Jews) from Jerusalem came into their midst and Peter abruptly go up from the table with the gentiles to not be seen with them.

Paul seeing this, told Peter that he was not of the new gospel identity. It was then that there was seen a separation of ‘thinking’ between the two. Most people read over this exchange of different views as a small thing. But I have always seen this as a ‘kink’ in Peter and the true gospel. I have since then found another kink in Peter and his thought process.

It was a little latter in the ministry of both men that their were hints of unification of thoughts and faith of all things ‘christian’ that needed to be said or wrote down for all to see or hear. There were various groups(assemblies) that had differing views on everything concerned. Now, if we could just stop and understand what I just explained what these groups wanted to do. They wanted to ‘cement’ the ‘ideal’ Christianity so that it will not be confusing, different in speech and word.

Now fast forward to the ‘church'(assembly)’called out ones’ of today. This is the ‘mess’ we are in today in christianity. We have to have this belief, this inclusion, that exclusion, added to the faith statement of our separate groups. Is this good or bad?

I know we read in the new testament of Jesus and Paul both instruct believers to hold close the ‘gospel’ that they had preached and to not swerve off the road to other understandings. But also Jesus tells us to ‘check’ all things according to the spirit of the Lord to keep us on the straight and given road.

Let me put a wrinkle in your seeing things, in my reading of the ‘christian origins’ book I came across some annotated pieces of information that caught my eye, It was one of the groups in the midst of the ‘assemblies’ that were brought together to come into agreement of the ‘faith statement’ for ‘christians’. It was one group from ‘Thyatira’ ,the assembly of believers whose belief that it was the ‘Understanding, or belief’ that the ‘Holy Spirit’ had come for this very reason, to guide and direct the believers. WOW!

I have often stated the numbers of denominations in the U.S. to many people in our discussions of christianity to point out the disunity of it all. But maybe I wasn’t, or we haven’t understood this plethora of belief’s in the U.S.’s christianity issue. Two things, you don’t see this in any other country. Second, Can we not see or hear the problem of when and where we went wrong? The people of Thyatira were on to something when they said that it was to be the leadership of the “Holy Spirit” that is to be our compass in this world, and not our organizations and buildings of mass confusion.

Just a side note, one of my ‘little’ nuances that I have always said to myself, is that ‘Everything in the scriptures was portrayed as the ‘right’ way to do things, the old testament stories were full of things like this. The New Testament I believe that everyone assumes that ‘everything’ was done right in God’s eyes, I don’t think it was, IMO. We are not in the right, if we are not lead by the Holy Spirit!!

Last side note, If the Thyatira group sounds familiar to you, it probably is, but you don’t know from where? It, ironically, is one of the Seven Churches of Revelation! In Thyatira’s chastisement’s from John thru God was their involvement of other idols of the land, it was not of their belief in the Holy Spirit’s Leadership!

Let’s let the Holy Spirit lead us all, and to all Let the King of Kings be our King!!

Opposites?

I stumbled on to something today, while studying something else.

It is always like that with me, I will be researching some theme, word, or story in the scriptures and I ‘see’ something else that relates to some other story or theme. All tho it gets me sidetrack from my original studies, I welcome an ‘AHA’ moment anytime!

Everyone knows what it means by using ‘opposites’ in a conversation, right? When you tell some one directions to a restaurant either to turn right or left at the corner of 2nd street, or you tell them that the earth is round, and they say it is flat, or that things are either black or white. It is an ‘either or’ kind of thing.

Now, sometimes we might go just by our ‘assuming’ of what is read by the first condition of a supposedly either or statement, because we are used to it.

I think we may have done this with actually a statement in the bible, and used it throughout the bible as a definite presupposition. It comes in Genesis 2: 9 Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Let’s look at this, starting with the second part of the verse, The tree of Life is in the midst of the garden and the tree of knowledge of good and evil is too. Did you see any opposite statements in that narrative? Neither did I.

In fact, there wasn’t anything that looked close to it. It was like it said “life and Knowledge” as the basic message of it. We have to start with the first statement of that there was “a Tree of Life, for this to be an “opposite’ scenario the last condition of the statement had to say “a Tree of Death”. But it doesn’t.

This is actually an avenue of ‘self acknowledgment ‘or ‘self identity’. This avenue, which if we break it down is one of the precursors of what we of society have called the period of time as “The Enlightenment” period where we have gone outside the realm of God and chose a realm of our own. This could be first ‘sign’ of the ‘individualistic narrative that was introduced into the gospel, altho it has always pointed to the ‘NT’ period for that. We can use this ‘use of knowledge of good and evil’ as a spiraling to the opposite of good, especially with a dose of ‘evil’. Nothing good usually comes with playing with evil, pun intended.

Let’s start with the obvious, (This here is exactly what I talk about is the issue of ‘the lack of biblical knowledge’ of the christians) I have used in my studies the ‘opposite’ method of some of my thinking. If we have been ‘offered’ a ‘Tree of good and evil’ for your use, then that would mean you didn’t have it to begin with, right. So God is giving you the ability to have it to use. I don’t know if we would understand the ‘concept of good and evil’ but for the sake of the argument let’s say we do. Satan says later, “that we are the same as God if have this knowledge of good and evil.” Digging deep into God’s world can and should lead us to the inner Spirit of His intentions. But in basic language, we have chosen to go on our own.

Now I know what you are going to say. That by knowing the things that have been said in the scriptures that ‘Our not choosing the Tree of Life’, automatically means “Death”. We have to take this argument just one more step deeper to find the ‘Truth’. Sometimes we can find the ‘Truth’ by what it doesn’t say. Yup.

Wouldn’t God if He was to give an ‘ultimatum'(this is what it is), He would of just said, “Do you want to pick an ‘apple from the tree of Life or the apple from the Tree of Death? If you want to go deeper still, if this would of been the question, I am thinking two things, one if I had chosen ‘Tree of Death’, wouldn’t I have been stricken dead instantly! Two, Who in their right mind would of not chose ‘Life’. (assuming we knew what life and death actually meant, yes this comes into play).

The Narrative of the story continues, which just all by itself, should tell us something. Did you ‘hear’ it? Did you ‘see’ it?

This scenario of the second tree, the ‘Tree of good and evil’ is an open ended scenario. There is that road that will get us back to the “Tree of Life”. Road back. Now, if you realize that it wasn’t you or me that built that road, It was already there. Then we must realize that the God of Creation built it.

Now, I don’t know if that road was yellow(OZ) or not, but I somehow think it might be stained with the color of ‘Red’.

Where do we go from here, oh Christian?

Up til about fifteen years ago I was in the institutional church, I have since taken it myself to drown myself into the living word of God.

I would only recommend this for only the highly ‘Hang on the word of God’ people because if you are one of these people that are only a sunday sound bit people to ‘live’ your life on, it won’t work. I’m sorry.

My revelation came years ago, when I really started to research particular subjects that were brought up in discussions with christian friends. I would first come home and start looking thru bible references, scriptures, commentaries, video’s, audio’s, YouTube subjects video, christian news, secular news, sermons-ones that I didn’t agree with and some that I did, and finally books, alot of books. As you can tell I am exhaustive in my research, now if this isn’t a sign of deep passion for truth and God, I don’t know what is. I am continuing this after 15 yrs + and still as hungry for the ‘WORD’ as ever. Oh Yeah, did I tell you that I am a PK, a Preachers Kid! This means that I have heard 18 yrs of 52 weeks of sermon a year for 18 yrs before I left for college. This is also not including the revivals, conventions, and all the extra special meetings we had for special events. I have heard alot of ‘Christianity’.

My result of all this had led me to a ‘New Picture’ of the Gospel and what it means to Christianity. Now, most of my friends are within the institutional church and are coming from their individualistic theology of the denomination.Although I do have some outside of the church confines as ‘the same’ beliefs’. I am not a pushy ‘evangelist'( I hate even using that word), but I do state my beliefs. As friends we talk about different themes and stories in the bible and there meanings, we will disagree, we will agree on things but we at least know of another view point that is ‘out there’ for us, if we want to, go and research even more about it. You see it is the hungry ones that will do that exact thing. As I have done, I go straight home and start research it in multiple chapters in the bible, books, video, audio and anything else I can get my hands on.

But where does that even get me, or anyone else by doing this? Just think of it this way, ‘at least your not a bump on a log’ for God. Your that frog that is always hopping for God, here, there, everywhere!! LOL

There has to be a conclusion of a ending to the storyline, someplace. And to what end? We are given a clue. Guess what! Guess where it is? Your right, at the end of the storyline, of and by the writer of the story!! God has all the answers, and has all the ways in which we are to do them.

God has (as does my blog title says the answer) the “ETERNAL PURPOSE. LIFE!!

Now if you were a new christian or even a doubter of God, I would always tell you to start at the beginning of God’s story. Genesis 1-2. Then Stop. Take a week or even a month and just think about these two chapters and listen to what it says. Then when you realize that it is God telling you, and all of mankind that God is wanting you to have “LIFE” and to have it abundantly in His Name. Then you can go on and go slowly into the story that prevails in a human controlled world and see what happens to it, all thru today’s headlines.

When you get to the end of the bible, you will come to the last two chapters of the story. It will tell you how God will and has put it back to rights(this is the phraseology that a author of mine puts it, I think it is the best way to explain it.

God tells us and shows us the final picture of his story and how it is going to be. God, His people, His Kingdom.

and this is where we will end up!

Standing Up, or not.

I believe in conversation, or maybe even a stronger word, discussion or even debate on christianity and all that it details it in our current moment. I love the descriptive words, the references, the interpretations of the said discussion. It widens the mind of anything that anyone talks about a particular subject. It challenges us to think outside ‘our’ box. I love reading comments on discussion blogs about something that I am interested in, the 60 degrees of answers that I read that tell me alot of things. One thing, that is obviously we are not yet in the state of ‘one mind’ as God wants us to be such as in Phil. 1.27Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one [fn]mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.

With this being said, I find things perplexing when I present things in blogs or discussions on topics of various things that I write or bring up in discussion, and I find no rebuttal of background of their beliefs or of their ‘proof’ of their belief. Now, I am not sure on how to take this ‘blankness’ of rebuttal’ on their face’s, but I have a few ideas as why.

There is one idea is that it is a heritage of belief that has dragged on for generation after generation of the same thoughts and understanding of God,faith, and the bible. It is one that is taking for granted that is one that is discerning because of our lack of knowing for ourselves as truth of God ,faith, and the bible is mute for us, we believe what our previous generation does. But it is also because our ‘beliefs’ are set that we are not being tested by ‘fact checked’ beliefs by not having a need to check the scriptures for ourselves.

Continuing on the last reason of the lack of bible scriptures being attested to the same beliefs, it is in the ‘church’ paradigm that it is prevalent in the structure of embodiment of the body of Christ. There seems to be a very low in our comprehension of the bible. Although there is a few standouts of theology minded people who are earnest in the bible studies and research and loving the word. There seems to be not all of the ‘body’ that is fitting into this ‘knowledge’ of the scriptures.

I am one of those very studious people that love to dig into various questions that have been presented to me and I will search and dig until I find the answer. My joy is staying in the realm of God and his ways to be in the mind of God, and Spirit of understanding. This should be the attitude of every christian who is follow God and his eternal purpose for his ‘image’.

We must push ourselves to be loved by God, and for us to Love Him even more to do everything that is ‘of’ Him. Including the reading and understanding the ultimate goal of God to have a ‘people,a world, and be their God’ for eternal eons.

God filled people

I am serious.

about almost everything.

But mostly about God,Jesus,Holy Spirit and God’s word.

What I have noticed with alot of people who are said christians, is their lack of understanding that there are other people around them or around the world that are very deep and digging christians for the truth. The dismissing of anyone that only quote or read other references of authors or what I especially respect the ones that are in academia, that it is their ‘LIFE’ to continue to search the word for the answers.

I am one of those people that can search and study a principle, a question, a baffling statement, a theme, or anything else thrown at me all day long. I will also follow a blogger with multiple blogs with a theory or statement, and just read all the ‘for’ and ‘against’ rebuttals to the said problem and just see the angles that everyone comes from and check out their views. All day long, if I don’t catch myself.

What I am saying is that there are alot of God believing people out there that know things, with the knowledge of God and the bible. Just ‘Listen’, or read what the say and learn. The truth will show itself, or the opposite will be heard or read and you will know it.

Just as the Jewish community was doing in their daily lives is reading the torah. But remember it is not just reading it but ‘know’ what it means thru God’s mind and wisdom.

Kingdom of God

What does it look like?

Good question!

I am not sure that to many people have really thought about this to much to even describe it. What probably is the main issue here is what does it look like When Christ comes to take the body of Christ to God to unite us with Him. This will be the re-unification of the players in the Garden of Eden.

Mark 4:11 And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables;

Matthew 6:33 (ESV): 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Mark 1:15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Matthew 12:28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Luke 8:1 Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him,

Luke 10:1 he said, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

These are but a few of the descriptions of the kingdom of God, Jesus’s ministry was one that His being within their midst(Apostles) was quite exasperating to Jesus, I am sure, let alone the disciples and the followers. But It is ironic that Jesus saying to the crowds that his Apostles should of known what He was describing of what the Kingdom of God was, but still had to describe to them what the parable of the seeds meant. It was the parables that was for the ones that did not ‘know’ the gospel of God that he was saving them from this world of sin.

There many episodes that the disciples where in that was beyond their sight(seeing) or hear(hearing) Jesus in what he actually said or what He stood for in the many walks with him thru the countryside. One instance was the journey in the ship with all the disciples aboard, traveling to the other side of the lake and the storm’s were raging against them, and they were stricken with fear of death, when they had God with them all the time. This is the reality that the disciples were still unaware who Jesus was.

Luke 7:41-50 when Jesus tells the story of two debtors that owe a moneylender, and tells the disciples that the moneylender forgives the debtors for the money, one for 10 times the amount of the other. It is when, Peter is asked by Jesus that who should be loved more, the one of the smaller or larger? He says, “the larger”, He then tells him because the woman of the house has kissed him and cleaned his feet and gave him water, and anoint him with oil, that he will forgive her sins first, for over his love for him is little.

Another note to also consider in the ‘knowing’ of what God’s gospel was for the people of Israel, were their leaders during this time, the Sadducee’s and the Pharisees the keepers of the Jewish law. It was if they were blind to ultimate vocation from God, to be the ‘first fruit’ of the gospel. (The reason for this will be another blog into why this was)

Getting back to the understanding of the Kingdom, Jesus took under his wing, disciples to learn and ‘know’ and ‘see’ who Jesus was, what Jesus represented, why were his ways were different, who was his ways for? This was alot for them to swallow about a man that called himself ‘the son of God’, it was only shadowing Jesus for 3 years in the time frame. The disciples were being hard pressed for the knowledge of this man, It was going to take time. I don’t know if they really honestly ‘knew’ or ‘saw’ what ‘Jesus’ was or stood for even before He died. I believe that even after He died that only a few were close to what the purpose was.

The Kingdom of God, the Rule of God, The Government of God, Garden of Eden, New Jerusalem,Zion are just a few descriptive phrases that are of the scriptures that are use. To what we believe or understand about this is very hard to understand about this but it is also very easy to understand. God is the Creator,King,Savior, of the the world. His Authority is the utmost,Holy, and righteous act for mankind there is. He is the reason, for everything.

Our foundation of faith

Where did it start? Was it thru your parents? Your grandparents? Was it thru the denomination you attended on sundays? Was it even questioned, like this is the only way?

My guess to how most christian’s faith evolved was thru their parents and their parents thru the same denomination over many generations without question to the authentication of what was being told to them.

When does usual become unusual to you? How does it evolve? Does a irrational statement begin to dig into your thought process of something specific, and then expand our other irrational statements from the past? When do you question your norm?

Let me digress by telling my questioning my norm moment! It was when It was when after a lifetime of going to church(I had too, I was a preachers kid, lol, but many years after being a kid, too.) I felt the need to see what the major issues of why church’s were having problems with everything that they came across in just being the ‘church’. It just so happens that at this time I was working at Focus on the Family, I was getting interested in the FOF’s work with the local church in the community, so I was digging into the avenue’s I could go. It was at this time that I accidentally came across a organization that my uncle was getting interest in to be an ambassador to church’s to go to individual church’s and see what specifically they were doing and what worked and what didn’t.

It was at this point when I understood what this organization(the name of it, I don’t recall) did and how it did it, began to ask why and what were the motives and goals of the said church. It seemed to me that maybe we were asking the wrong question! Is the Foundation even right to even start asking questions to build up a church. What was the foundation? What was the foundation are the ‘churches’ using? Are they the same? What was their purpose? Was man involved, was God, a mediator?

I had to start from scratch.

So, I went from totally being involved in the ‘fixing up’ churches to questioning what the ‘church’ was, from the foundation up.

This was my foot in the door of my journey which to this date is around 10 years. This has taken me to many places and people which I would never had gone had I not decided to take this route.

What I have found out in my observances of where I was ‘in the church’ and my environment and everyone else was very limited in the knowledge of the accessibility of any avenues of looking outside the walls of the church or denomination’s. The concern was of the interior of the walls of the ‘church’. The Corporate(all) body of Christ is never mentioned or understood as what the model of the ‘church’ is to be and how. This, I think is what in the end is what took me to the re-looking at the foundation of what the body was or is.

My curiosity of God’s plan, or as I have penned in my blog is God’s “Eternal Purpose” is where I started my journey. My blog “Eternal Purpose” has journal-led me to alot of various startling “AHA” moments in my studies. My studies led me to a author that I think was going thru something like I was, and penned a book that led me in the right direction of finding my path. “From Eternity to Here” by Frank Viola tells the ‘Rediscovering the ageless purpose of God’, this led me to the fact that their was a purpose all along from the beginning of time. But it was a little different than what the usual conversation was of the church’s.

It was that God’s design of His creation was ‘good’, and that his creation had rebuffed their creator, to be the King of their own domain to design and make it what it wanted to. God being the ultimate and and just God that he is, let the cards play out and let man create ‘his own world’. But it is God who come out victoriously when He confronts the evil in mankind, and destroys it in death in man, by sending his son,Jesus, to take this action to the grave, but arise on the third day to create the perfect man and kingdom for his creation to enjoy with His creation, as it was in the Garden of Eden.

Do you really believe what you believe is real?

This quote is from Dr. Del Tackett formally of Focus on the Family’s “The Truth Project” in his opening statements of the series.

This has always pondered me on the statement even being said out loud, even doubted. But the more I have questioned myself and others on what and why we believe what we believe has become one of my 1st questions to ask someone.

It seems that what we believe is just not questioned! We believe in what we believe because our parents believed this way or this is what my church has taught.

Wow! This is  really scary to me and should be to you, too!  In 1 John 4:1 John tells us to test all spirits of this world, all spirits are not of God. We should not give free reign with someone that speaks the word just because of where they are or the title that they have. This was emphasized many times to the various churches in the new testament that there are many false teachers and followers out in the world. Let me stop here and just mention that in this section that this also includes religion in general. Christ preached all thru the NT of the “religions of the world” that they were not of Him.

Let me stop here and let you take a look at a clip of an experience  that Francis Chan had when he had visitors came to him at his house. Check this link out- http://youtu.be/5Is8QnxviOI

If you don’t know who Francis Chan is,check him out, he is an awesome believer!

Francis Chan’s life was changed thru these instances when these men came to his house and they professed their beliefs but yet did not know where they came from. He questioned them on how they validated their beliefs yet he did not know himself on how he validated his own beliefs! Wow, what a statement.

I understand on where he was coming from in his stand on his belief, but yet could not validate it. I have read the bible over a few times and my perception on what I believed I just assumed was in there some place.

Not til I started to go look for what I believed in, that I could not find anything that supported it!

Ok, now what?

My perspective on God and the Bible had been totally shattered in where I stood. I had to go back into the word/God.(I want to point out right here that we need to understand that the word is God,and God is the word, they are not separate identities) If we read the bible with the understanding that God is in the word,of the word, and is His nature we will totally see the bible in a new light, pun intended.

God is to be looked at in a new light, a new covenant kind of way than we see with our normal eyes. The whole bible is God. Every word, every verse, every chapter, every book, every testament is God. We need to have our eyes wide open so we can see the BIG picture of God.

The bottom line is that we need to back and read the bible. See God in himself(the bible).

Let me give you some help in this start. Ask God for help in seeing Him in his words and his story. Pray that He will show you with His eyes and His spirit of the Bible. Do this every time you read the bible. This will prevent yourself from seeing what you want to see.

May God give the eyes to see Him in the reading of His Word!! Amen and Amen.

The Law

Romans 3:19-20 speaks to the law.
I especially like verse 20, for 2 reasons.
1.-it talks about our attempt to satisfy the law thru our humanness ,but we can’t.because sin come from the law.
2. We are not justified in sight or deeds but by Faith!!

It all makes sense now, doesn’t it!!
