This blog will be my only writing of the ‘state of the church’ looking from the outside. Otherwise I will be always writing within the realm of the Church.
This view of the world, is from personal experience of the looking for the influencing factor of christianity in my world.
It is coming from this perspective that you will be amazed on what you actually ‘see’ or don’t ‘see’. If we use as our baseline of what a christian is,christianity is, or being Christ like, as told in Matthew as Jesus tells us. You see that it encompasses alot of things in life, from your daily life, your work life, and just your being in God’s realm.
The bubble that we seem to have used in defining this life has been the brick and mortar ‘church’, with a spokesman that has led us to the place that we are now. But what is the telltale sign of its redeeming value in God’s Kingdom. What qualities should we be seeing in the world, our neighbors, our friends or our family? What does it look like? Who is apart of it.?
The litmus test is the daily life of our Christ like being that will tell us if we are doing God’s work. I have over the last few years been in a environment where there is alot of interaction of a plethora of people from various backgrounds interacting in informal ways to just tend to business of life. Alot of people, alot of interaction. Just life. It is nothing new. It is the same old thing that has has gone on for centuries. Has anything changed? Should it? Does it need to change? What influence would make it change, on how we act from last century to this century?
So, If the christianity influence in the world has been the ‘ideal’ situation of telling the ‘Gospel’ to them, it should be showing the results in our daily lives, in yours and mine. But how? and by who.
I’ll be honest, I don’t ‘see’ it. I don’t.
What does it look like? Who’s being ‘different’? What are they doing?
I guess it means that I don’t ‘see’ Christ.
I don’t see individuals just being Christ daily.
Why?
Is it the system, the church, the pastor, the people, the message, the paradigm?
What’s wrong?
Something has to change, but what is it.
What if there was something that were missing in the storyline of the Bible?
Is it a different paradigm that we need to look at or see?
Do we need to look past the surface of the text to see what God is saying and doing?
I believe that we must! It cannot continue to go this way in our world to continue to go down the path of nowhere.
I will continue this train of thought in the next blog that will expand on the subject.
