Upon further review

(the voice of an official in football, after looking on video if play was good)

I have had discussions with a few people on the importance of the old testament(I prefer the use of ‘covenant’) in all matters of the biblical theology to ‘see’ what God is telling us.

Side note- My interest biblically has always more New Testament(Covenant) but I have since moved my studies to the old.

Tying these two things together, old covenant and God’s eternal purpose are so tied together that We MUST start from the old testament. If we don’t ‘see’ the narrative of God’s plan then we will not see it in the New Testament. And that may be the problem with the “Church” Today, and historically the past 500+ years!

What we must do to see it, is to not look at the bible as before and after narrative of the story with the cross and resurrection in the middle, but as a narrative of God’s Eternal Purpose for His Creation. I believe that God’s desire was and always will be the indwelling of Himself with the indwelling of Creation melding into one. This was the scenario of his plan in the Garden of Eden, with His creation and Himself walking and talking in between the beauty of the Garden. It wasn’t to be.

This beginning, is key to the rest of the narrative in scripture. We must remember it, as we travel thru the scriptures. It is throughout the whole bible. The Temple narrative is one way, another one being the ‘covenant’ way, that we can ‘see’ the desire of God and His purpose.

Let me just go back to the fact that I can see that the christian community has seemed to dismiss much of the intentions of what the old covenant was pointing to. I believe that ‘We’ as christianity have just jumped into the middle of the story, when we have started with the story of ‘Jesus'(Messiah) without knowing why He comes into the narrative. We have for along time seen Christ’s coming as the ‘end all’ of man’s sinful ways. But could it be something else, too?

What if it was a more amazing thing that God was trying to do? What if He was creating that ‘Garden’ scene again, with no possible way of failure to have man and His God walking side by side forever!

You see the ‘Garden’ scene was the foreshadowing of the Temple of God, which in reality was the ‘Messiah’ Christ, who became the Temple of Mankind, within Us as we have joined to Him.

Holy

That’s what Genesis is all about.

If we stand back and look at the story of the Garden of Eden, we will actually see what the story is all about.

First, we have to ‘see’ what the reality of what the Garden is, God’s Space that also includes his creation; mankind.

Can you “SEE” it? if you can, then it will get easier from here to see the clear picture. God’s creation his ‘abode’, his living quarters, his room and board, his head resting place, his space, his bethel, his love. You see, this is where he is Himself, He can be himself with ‘all his creation’ (I sometimes think that we forget, or don’t realize this aspect, God loves not only his humanly creation, but also the surroundings around his humanly creation) This is “His Temple”, this is the original design, altho it might of seemed small to adam and eve at the time, it was expandable, it could start as a pinpoint on the globe, but it could spread out as a ‘drop of water in the ocean’ to expand forever! God told adam and eve to ‘Be fruitful and multiply’ in the garden, this was for everything that was concerned with in the garden, all the goodness surrounding them would flourish ‘with them’, when they would. “Good” would continually to ‘grow’!

This garden was perfect, gorgeous, amazing, picture of God and his essence. You could say that it was “Holy”. It was God and creation together in one place being one in “Holiness”! Two becoming one as a model for things to come!

Have you ever had a conversation with someone and they were telling you a story of their expertise, and a storyline of events, and they mentioned something in the story that was a analogy of something but you didn’t understand it at the time, you just didn’t say anything, and went on. But then you see the person years later and he brings up the story he told you years earlier, and it suddenly dawns on you on what that person was talking about because the one thing you didn’t understand is now in reality, standing right in front of you?

This story is the telling of “God’s temple” in reality of the Garden of Eden of the ‘ideal’ purpose of mankind, but what is ‘in front of us’ is this building that we have designated as ‘a Temple’ as our blueprint of what God wants, when in reality it is just the microcosm of what it is supposed to be, not one of ‘walls'(Eden had not walls) or an institution(men create institutions),or Theology(understanding ways of God), it is much “Bigger than this”, it is not of human ways,or hands but of God’s goodness,or Holiness!

God’s Holiness is the essence that God created us by. It was ‘His Image’ that we were brought into this world, and this was what we were meant to continually be. Christ in Us, Us in Christ.

Holiness.

Then the eyes of both of them were opened…..

It all started here.

This was the beginning of the downfall of mankind.

We are going to take this scenario from the beginning of man’s time and see where it lead us, and what ramifications that it has on all of us.

We are going to start at verse 6 of Genesis 1, “When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. This is after the serpent had talked to her about what God had told them the do’s and don’t’s.

The serpent questioned eve about how truthful God was in telling them of the sincerness of God and his instructions. The first thing that the serpent questions eve about is the fact of dying if the fruit was touched or eaten. Now, this is where we must start in analyzing what is meant in the discussion of adam and eve’s beginnings.

From my perspective, I have always wondered if they even knew what ‘dying’ meant? After their ordeal of eating of the fruit, and God coming upon them in the garden, hiding in the bushes, what was God going to do to make them ‘die’? With God’s questioning them about what had just happened in the garden and the forbidden fruit being eaten, and the repercussions being giving out to adam and eve, what was the mind thinking?

(I am doing this on the ‘fly’ as I go in the ‘understanding of the text, so let’s work this out together) I may throw out various possibilities of answers or questions thru this discussion.

Something that maybe we need to input here that could alter our theology of things from here out in the understanding of the scriptures. And it is this : In What state was Adam and Eve in in the Garden of Eden? And by this I mean, Adam and Eve could not of been ‘in the flesh’ in the Garden of Eden. Why? Because no one being of the flesh will be in the Kingdom of God. So the question is, “What state were they in?” I myself am not sure. But our answer will effect our belief’s from here going foreword as you will see.

Let’s go over first the reaction from eve on ‘seeing’ the tree of ‘good and evil’. She said that it ‘was good for food, it looked ‘pretty’ and the tree was desirable to make ‘one’ wise. Now, on the first observance of the ‘fruit’, it was object of a first fruit of a ‘fruit’ tree, so it was for the eating for man. Should be good so far. The second thing was mentioned was that it looked ‘pretty’ to eat. Now, as we know from food from all across the world, that all food does not look pretty. So this is an iffy proposition for us in deciding that something is good for us just because it looks ‘pretty’. The third statement from eve is one that might be hard or need to go deep into what this really means but we will throw out some things for us to think about. Serpent’s proclamation is “For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

This quote is in two parts, we will take them one at a time. The first one, I am particular interested in solving, it is revisited in alot of things in the bible, so if we solve the first one, we should be able to see our way thru with the rest of them.

‘Eat from it and your eyes will be opened’, sometimes when reading a verse or passage on something and it is referring it as being positive, I will also look at it from the opposite view, this passage is one of them. We then can say that Adam and Eve’s eyes were ‘closed’ (allegorically) in this instance. So, what does this mean? First, we can say that God did not want us to ‘know good and evil’. We could also say that only God was the author of ‘Good and Evil’, only God’s wisdom can say what is ‘good and evil’. We as His creation cannot! For He, and only He is the Creator! So is this the way that we were designed to be, as God’s creation? So, let us take this as a good thing or a God thing. (for now) Obstacles ahead!

So, by going by this, God’s desire is for his creation not to know ‘the knowledge of good and evil’. The added text from ‘the serpent’ of us having the knowledge of good and evil plus we would be ‘like God’ is not to be known by man, for man’s sake.

Let’s take this a little step further, Adam and Eve were given a choice in the garden, to obey or not to obey. This is also called a ‘Free will’ by some in the business. Some say this is not relevant in anything besides this passage. But we will see.

Now if you are new to the scriptures, you will not ‘know’ what is coming down the road for man to struggle with in his journey of continuing his ways, or if he wants to change his frutility in life. Those that have some knowledge of the whole bible, knows that there is going to be varying thought processes of who or what is going to be effected.

We will continue on with this another day, let me know what you think so far on your interpretation of this or just a comment.

Vocation?

This word is really not used much in the world today. At one time it was. If I remember it correctly, it was used alot in the school systems in the terminology for the question to a student by the counselor in referencing “What vocation are you going to be striving for in your school path”? It was one of those questions that every student answered by saying “I don’t know”.

It was back in those days that the emphasis of life as a student was not just to go thru high school, then to college to get a piece of paper to say you have a piece of paper for a job, but was given some alternatives as learning and practicing a career in school with word working, metal working, FHA, Future entrepreneurs, or their were others in different schools. It was just a way to start on something that a student already was doing in school to continue in life as a part of the community.

The emphasis for the last 30-40 years has been that the only route to life is going thru the college scene. Which is a shame because not everyone is cut out to be a student of the academics and all that it entails. Anywhere from 2 to 10 years of your life is compressed into just learning a degree for a particular field, only to realize at the end of that experience it isn’t for you!

What if we all have failed to realize that ‘OUR’ Vocation has already been given to us from the time we were born. Yes, it was, and is. Just maybe we have just took this upon ourselves that we ‘thought’ that we knew what we were doing, but it really doesn’t seem like it, if you look around the world.

Let me tell you what it is.

Genesis 1: 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the [fn]sky and over every living thing that [fn]moves on the earth.”

See. It has always been right there in front of our eyes, and we failed to see it or even worse, just do it!

Be fruitful and multiply…… We have done this fairly well it seems if we look at the world’s population. It is the next part that we have had the biggest issue in trying to accomplish.

Subdue it……. ‘To bring under control’. This seems to be the really hard one to understand or to work on. But let’s not look at it from our perspective from today, but of in the context of the moment of adam and eve. God told them that this was their vocation for the life. To reproduce and take care of the creation. How hard could that of been? Really. What is more outstanding is the fact that they were living in the Garden of Eden. It was the creation in a nutshell right in front of you with God already had all the plumbing done for the world, water from below and from above to drink for the garden. Their was no weeks! Thank goodness. It was an Oasis, a Paradise with perfectness all around you.

So what was the problem? Man was not content in this scene from God. Man wanted to create and own his own world to run it his own way! We know how this ends up!

So Why did we not just go with the vocation from God from the beginning of the Garden of Eden? God created us, man and women to be fruitful and to multiply, to subdue it, and be in charge of everything that was created by God above us,below us, and with us. Why,Why did we not do this?

You be the judge on this, why did we not want the vocation of taking care of the garden of eden? More importantly is the question why don’t we do this now, knowing that this is our vocation ever since we were born!

To reiterate it.

I have told multiple people and few mentions in my blogs about the four chapters in the bible that are without SIN as a piece of trivia. In the narrative of God in the bible, there are only four chapters that are not succumb to the paradigm of sin in the world.

It is in this little piece of trivia that seems to have been just been glossed over in our theology in christianity. It is just a small detail, to get the story going, and to end things. Genesis 1,2 and Revelation 21,22 are the only places in the bible that it is free from the concept of ‘sin’. It is because of this that it has been the “oh, well it had to have the beginning of it started out right”, but it is the most important thing of any story being told then let alone now for any story being told. It sets the stage for what is to begin the story, it is the foundation, bedrock, reality of the goal of the storyteller.

Why has these two chapters ever been pounded into all our lives thru the generation of our families? Why? If we were to be taught these only four chapters of the bible, would we have missed anything?( I would really like to hear your opinion on this!)

Let me expound on this, so that we know what we are talking about. The beginning, Genesis 1 and 2 is the creation of the universe(Kingdom of God), the placement of everything that is what we know of today in our world, from planets, stars, moons, plants, trees, flowers. Then came His everlasting image that He created to be the caretaker or gardener of the universe to keep it as ‘ours’. This ‘picture’ of God’s desire for his creation to be a representative of himself, and for his creation to be his image to be a ‘oneness’ in the ‘wholeness’ of creation’. God’s creation of man was his sole purpose in having communion with him. This is what is called the ‘The Eternal Purpose’ of God.

This was the initiation of the purpose. It is in the storyline of Revelation of chapters 21 and 22 that tells of this finalization of his purpose being realized. It is and always been know to be finalized to be done in God’s time and way.

So, Let’s go back to the storyline in Genesis 1 and 2 to realize our vocation was and is to be and just believe and ‘See’ it and know that God is welcoming all of us into this reality of all men to have fellowship with Him in His Kingdom! Revelation 21 and 22 is coming and we want to be seamlessly want to go into this kingdom of God!!

The story that christianity missed

It seems that christianity got off on the wrong foot.

It’s like they jumped into the story right in the middle of the story telling. They missed the beginning. The reason for the story.

Christianity has jumped into the middle, even as the story was being told thru the eyes of Israel which even they didn’t understand.

What was it that made them start in the middle? Was it the feeling that this was when the story really gets interesting? Was it the just the part of the ‘New’ Testament(covenant) that brought them in? Or was it the part of the story that they thought the answer was coming to light, according to them. The middle of anything can always cause trouble when you start there.

The middle of a story, either being told to you, or you telling the story is neither good for anyone. I believe that the most harmful, devastating, outcome of starting in the middle is you don’t know the plan, outline, plot, subjects or motives of the story. With one outstanding missing question in the whole storyline that can be missed, Is who is directing the story.

Christianity has started from the middle of the book, or what is actually the beginning of Christ’s ministry and has assumed the reason on why ‘the Messiah’ is doing what He is doing. We have taken things for granted, assumed, misread scripture because of not knowing the beginning of the story and knowing the strategy that God was doing his works with his people and his kingdom. It is because of this starting in the middle of story, that we seem to be in the situation that we in now. The message has been wrong, for us and to all the world that we have presented ourselves to be.

We are God’s image. We belong in His Temple. We are to be his people. He is to be Our King.

This is what God was describing in Genesis 1,2. It hasn’t changed. This is all that God wants to do, to walk with us in the garden in the eternal purpose.

Can we be frank?

This blog is going to be mainly to the pastor’s and church’s of the world.

First, dear pastor are you beside your self in everything that you do or think? Why? God is everywhere, everything, everyone. So why do pastor’s of the world don’t include what God is doing, saying or being in the rest of His world? Why do you just think that it is all about the confines of your little building that you meet in? It’s not about the confines of this space in the most prestigious part of the city that you have chosen.

*Let me just say here that majority of people inside the ‘church'(people in the pews) have no clue what God is doing outside the walls of their building. Their is no ‘seeing’ of what the unity of God’s ‘forest’ approach to his kingdom is, as opposed to the ‘tree’ approach by the ‘church’ on the corner.*

God has chose the whole world as his domain. It is His creation, His land, His Kingdom. It is, what it was. and it is, what is now. and it is, forever and ever. Nothing will change. God is.

So why do we do what we do as churches, or pastors to corner our selves into this niche of the world to ‘be’ a ‘church’, when it is God’s Church,His people.

Secondly, God’s Kingdom is ‘of’ Him, through Him, and by Him. Our thinking that is of the individualistic paradigm of this ‘saving’ them at whatever cost by this little church in the corner has got to go. It is nowhere to be seen in the old testament of all the journeys of mankind. In the New Testament, it is even reinforced in the proclamation of Jesus that He came for MAN(plural) to set them free from the slavery of the world, which they chose instead of God the creator.( This is what the Gospel is)

I digress, this attitude of ‘church’ and the pastor has isolated themselves in so many ways that it is to much to get in to at this point, but let me point out one Huge thing that has hampered the development of God’s people becoming God’s people. You see when you isolate apart of a body, let’s say the liver, it won’t survive by itself. It was designed to be apart of the whole body, because the whole body is designed to function with all things of the body. What is really bad for a body is when the part’s believe that they can act individually on their own to be all they can be outside the body. This is a disastrous situation. The body dies. Sound familiar?

When you ‘see’ something not come together, it must mean that it will not be so. When the piece of puzzle doesn’t fit, we must realize that it’s not apart of the puzzle!

When the People of God realize that We are ‘all’ God’s people coming together as ‘ONE’ in the name of the God of Adam, then we will be as He designed us to be, His Own.

The bible’s storyline is……..

This seems to be an issue with the bible reading people. The readers are well aware of all the multiple stories that in the scriptures but there is no understanding of the overall theme or as I say “Eternal Purpose” of God.

I have always claimed you have to start at the beginning with everything. It is not anything different with the scriptures. Genesis 1-2 is crucial to knowing the details of ‘heaven and earth’ as God creation. It is also important that we look past the words of the scriptures and see the ‘forest’,in this case it would be a very large forest! lol.

The ‘forest’ that we have to look at is ‘what’ is ‘heaven’ and what is ‘earth’? What do they represent? and why?

If we first look at ‘heaven’, we must realize that God is ‘of’ it and resides in this realm. It is holy, righteous and Godly. The creator of all is in everything, because He is everything. This ‘heaven’ is the paradigm of all existence being God indwelt. God is God. This realm is the existence of God in all it’s worth.

This realm of ‘heaven’ is what God desires for his creation, he gave them life in many ways to experience on his creation of ‘earth’. It was to be two spheres together overlapping each other so as to become one. (This is latter said in the scriptures with adam and eve, with the same kind of life giving result).

Earth being God’s creation for mankind to be his home, was ‘life’ to the extreme. It was what no one could imagine, let alone describe with a million words. God was the creator, designer and best of all, the host of the wonderful garden. This earth was home.

God’s design was incorporating two realms together, heaven and earth. God and man. Creator and created. Designer and designee. Man and woman. It is illustrated many ways throughout the scriptures to tell and show us that this is the example of completeness. Two halves, together made whole.

It is now that the one, man has seen to split with the heavens and God, to be free from the creator, and to be an independent creation and not be associated with God, its creation. The realms have now separated and mankind is running on its own. God, now disappointed, has not left his creation but is keeping his eye on them to bring them back into the realm of God and man.

God does this when he ‘brings out'(connotation of the exile) abraham of Ur to bring his people out of this miry clay back to ‘heaven’. God’s eternal purpose is still to have the creator and creation in what is supposed to be a intertwined life of God and man.

This storyline is ‘not used in for the most christianity’s dogma but the one of ‘for all of mankind has sinned, and must confess their individual sins and come to the Lord’. We must relook at this dogma, with the intent of finding proof that this was the message to the Israelites as God was dealing with them. Was this the message in the new testament? Jesus’s message was bold and to the point, that God’s kingdom was at hand, and that it will come to its fullness in time.

We must as christianity relook at the scriptures at to what the ‘eternal purpose’ is in God’s word!

Nature

I want to go back to a similar post that I wrote maybe a year ago, where we looked at the scenario of Man in the garden of eden looking at two trees and picking which nature that He wanted.

If we as man can understand the huge implications of this decision of ours we then can go back and understand what we did wrong, or even know what the real identity we were supposed to be. I wonder if Adam really understood the underlining path that his decision would take him.

It has all boiled down to “nature”. No, it isn’t the surroundings that Adam was in. The garden of eden was the most extravagant garden that God could of designed for anyone to live in. It had everything, it was the ultimate man cave!! God thought of everything. There was the beauty to the eye, their was substance, food to live on, for this was what adam thought that life was all about. The food that he did pick was good to the eye, and then to the taste. There was also entertainment for man, animals beyond your imagination to care for and to watch. There was also the heavens to look at while man was resting while laying down in the garden, what a panoramic view it must have been to see the universe from its beginning. But this is not the nature I am talking about.

The nature that was to be chosen that day was of “man’s” or “God’s” nature.

Do you realize that this decision was simply to say “Do you want life or death”.

For adam to make this decision was not a simple one but a very influential one that he maybe didn’t understand fully.

We need to stop here and truly understand at what a pivotal and deep message that is being brought to us by God.

God’s message to us was simply Life or death, it was a condition that would “come “ to us in whatever we choose. If our decision was to be the “tree of knowledge of good and evil” it would bring death. If we chose the “tree of Life” we would have life “come”to us.

Our result of choosing the tree of knowledge of good and evil has brought us death but also all the precursors of death to us in the pain and agony of death in the absence of life.

But although we as man have made the worst decision of mankind, God still wants us to have “life”. This could be where the term “give him a second chance” came from. Let man choose again.

We need to view this pinnacle of the bible as the key to God’s eternal purpose to us. It is not the fact we as His people need to know that we have sinned, and need to repent, and to share this revelation to everyone we know.

It is the decision of Life(Christ) that we must answer. We (This is a singular plural word) meaning God’s people, children of Israel, christians. This is also a sticking point that we need to understand better, in context of this moment. You see in whatever decision that was/is made it will be passed on from generation to generation to generation.

It’s simple: Death begets Death, and Life begets Life.

What we have to know is that Christ’s dying on the cross for us(same as before, singular plural word) was to kill death,do away with it,capture it,overcome it and subdue it. The end. This was a means to the end of death. This should not be construed as the main point in understanding of the bible but as the way to LIFE.

Let us all go back and now chose Life!!

God’s Garden

Gardening can be fun and exciting with either gorgeous flowers or abundance of fruits and vegetables. But it all depends on how consistent or diligent you are with your garden.

The vegetable garden has been my forte  of the last few years, trying to grow as much vegetables as I can to fill our stomachs with over the summer. I have good years with it and I have had some terrible years with it.With the bad years,it seems that I was doomed before I got started, either I started to late to plant or my plants were to small and weak to take the thunderstorms in april or may that I was doomed for any good crops that year. Some years I didn’t have the time to really put into it like I should of to see any good results. Weeds are your enemy, not enough water, to much sun, bugs, all can change things real fast for a vegetable gardener

On the other hand, if my time was devoted to my garden with the love and affection of what it actually represents, food, I would put more of myself into my care for the garden. I would nourish it with fertilizer, sunshine or no sunshine depending on the crop, protection from different elements, rain or hail. The most important element of all these things is the daily watering of the crops. It seems that there could be a better method of my watering these plants than to come along and pour some water on each one of these, or maybe just spray all these plants with a long garden hose, or maybe yet what about using a sprinkler for it every day.

But wait. There is another way. Do you know what it is? It may be obvious but we don’t use it.

God’s garden in the Garden of Eden, used the daily continuous injecting method of an underground feeding of that ever flowing river of Life!.

Just imagine the picture of this in your mind,It was the Garden of Eden, there was two trees there that were there for your choice. One tree, although it might of looked good at first with the fruit that was good to the sight and taste, had no sustaining power in it’s longevity, you see once the fruit was eaten, there was no more fruit. This tree of the “knowledge of good and evil” was not ever meant to be a sustaining tree.

The “Tree of Life” on the other hand was  meant to last forever and ever, or to put it another way——-Eternal Life!

This tree as described was feed by a river that separated into four rivers in Genesis 2:10. This lone river was solely for this tree of life in the garden of eden. This tree was being nourished by the this sole river it was designed to create life and sustain it. It had a purpose.

The designer of the world and the earth did not create just for sake of creating, He had a plan or a goal. Since God was the designer of this garden, he was the stars, planets, heavens, sun, moon, animals, plants, trees, and the waters.

God was the river.

Let this sink in for a few minutes, this such an amazing picture to behold if we can see it! It is to bad that Adam did not see it as an understanding of which tree to pick.

The one with no sustaining power or the tree that had forever and ever life more abundant, or eternal life.

This is called eternal life. Jesus Christ, the one that gives eternal life.

Let me add this to the this thought of the sustaining river of God, Look up Revelations 21:1-3 and see what it says about the New City of Jerusalem that God created for us to be with him.

It might just make you think again about this gardener and irrigation system!
