New Creation(John)

John’s first line is the same as the first line in the old testament book of Genesis. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” 2. He was in the beginning with God. 3. all things were made through him,and without him was not anything made that was made. 4. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

There is some powerful stuff in those first 5 lines in John. There is also alot of things to work thru in those first 5 verses. Let’s start with verse one, It tells us two things in this short but powerful, telling of words. First, It tells us that the Trinity has been around forever, The Father, Son(Jesus), and the Holy Spirit have been hovering around everything before time started, but mainly the story of Creation that God tells us that His Son, was there too. He is the “Word”. This knowledge that God’s son was there all the time, could be very mind blowing if we would just sit and think about it for awhile. This also tells me that the trinity was together ‘in the beginning’! Kaboom! WOW!

The second thing that the first verse tells us, is that although this sounds alot like Genesis 1, which it is, it is actually telling us that it is a little different. Now, to know this, one would have to know or read the whole old testament, or have been told it by someone. The journey of man has taken alot of bad turns over the centuries, including still in our lifetime. We have turned our back on him in every part of our lives, because ‘we know’ what is good for us. LOL It has been like this because man chose what was behind door #2, which was the ‘knowledge of good and evil’. This has the makings of alot of bad in our future, as we all know.

Verse three reaffirms us that God and the Messiah and the Holy Spirit were always there, and everything was made through them. God was/is the author and designer of everything good. Just like the first six days of creation everything made by God was perfectly good. Not a blemish in anything. White as snow. Holy and blameless. It was Godly and Holy.

Now, verse four is unique, it tells us that this is the ‘New Creation’, and not of the first creation. Let’s look at the verse again to see what it says-“In him was life, and the life was the light of men”. The first part of the verse saying that ‘In him was life’ can only be construed as being after Christ had died and arose again on the third day, by his proclaiming that ‘Christ was the Life, and He gave it back in abundance’. There was ‘no life in the first covenant, with the law, that did not create salvation to the people. but the second but New Creation did!

The second part of verse four is one of great joy and hope for all who seek him. It says “and the life was the light of men”, this is telling us that man is filled with his glory and shekinah, the light of God, even as the light as God produced on the first day! It is God, and He is filled in us, and Us in Him! Hallelujah, and Amen!! God is Great!

This is the eternal purpose of God to have a creation and for it to cry “Holy, Holy what a mighty God we serve”!

Verse five is even more exciting to find out, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” This again is pointing to the ‘New Creation’, when it proclaims that the ‘Light has shown on everything and it is not dark anywhere, the Light is everywhere! No more darkness to find! God is everywhere His creation is back to reality, and no more evil, earthly turmoil, or mankind’s knowledge of good or evil!

Praise God for just these first five verses in John! We will stop here for now and continue on in John soon.

How do you ‘see’ the scriptures?

I might be all over the place with this blog, I’m feeling like I need to point out alot of things to everyone! Yes, it’s my turn! lol

My life’s journey has brought me thru alot of things and places because of my heritage thru my fathers’ line of work. You see he was a pastor for all his life and it took our family to some different cities and different states. Which I enjoyed them all as a kid, I didn’t know anything else but to enjoy it. It was a adventure to me as just a new place to check out.

It is in this adventure that I have looked back and tried to surmise the things that my father was doing as a pastor to people. Now, being old as I am I have forgotten some things that occurred or where they happened but their are things that have stuck out in my memories whether they be bad or good, they have. The memories that I have are the ones that were of my father, and my mother that were of the ‘teacher’ method of shepherding people. Let me say at the outset that I believe that this method of ‘teacher’ was the correct mode of said ‘pastor’, but I fear that it was all in vain, because this way was shallow in it’s presentation. What I have seen and read of various authors, pastors, evangelist’s, is that there was a ‘Theology’ first, then a foundation of scripture that fit the scenario. This is backwards.

It is the scripture that should create our understanding of God. This is the model which should of been emphasized from the very early beginning. The good news is that it seems that this is starting to come out thru the works of alot of theologians who have put in tireless work in digging out the storyline of the bible. It doesn’t come out easy, it is searching for God’s work in everything that He orchestrates thru his hands. But it is making a difference in how we see the bible as the word of God, and his people.(for more information on this, just make a comment to me at the end)

Another thing that is closely tied to this is the failure of the previous story, and even now, that there was and is a failure of the people of God that are failing to read and ‘know’ the scriptures! I don’t know for sure what the reason is, behind this, but I have a few. Lazy on the individual, lazy to know the pastor will tell them sunday, I have heard it before, read all the stories in the bible, doesn’t pertain to me, and the list goes on. People have not, and were not told of the storyline of the scriptures from day one of their interest in God. This is major flaw of christianity to the world. We have not presented the God of our World to the people in the right way.

Our way was to tell the stories of all the great people of the bible and their stories, to impress them of such great men or women to loft up our God and his purpose. But that is to shallow. God started from the beginning, Genesis to start this journey and a blueprint of what God was going to do in the now, and the latter. In which the now and the latter were the same. Compare Genesis 1-2 with Revelation 21-22. God’s book should be read and ‘known’ from beginning to end. There is storyline, WE HAVE TO FOLLOW IT! The New Testament(covenant, I prefer) is the continuation from the Old Testament(old covenant). This brings out the biblical thought with using Covenant, instead of ‘Testament’.

I would recommend to people to get a few people together and start in genesis and just get a fresh perspective on how God has put very specific things into place and also people to make his story come alive for us. Go slow and methodical, to ‘see’ God’s design of his people and his Kingdom.

You might have a revelation in doing it this way by realizing that ‘we’ can all become ‘one’ in our ‘knowing’ and ‘seeing’ God, and not be split in our ways as we are now!

Let’s get deeper!

I have blogged on this subject a few times in the past with great intentions of making a stir of things.

With the new environment that we live in these days, I believe it is more relevant to do so, studying the word in small groups, either with family members or a few friends. I would say no more than 10 people to keep it personal and not as a meeting with a leader. I have been in a few of these groups a couple of times, and the atmosphere was very good in conducive to speaking up in the group to chime in with your speaking.

These types of get together is key to broadening your mindset of things of the scriptures, but to also become a consensus of one mind after awhile of the main message of the bible. One thing that has helped me understanding the ‘of one mind’ mentality is not just writing blogs, but to read blogs of other people and then to watch the comments come in to the blog of various opinions and statements. For one, it was very entertaining but more importantly showed me on how far apart everyone is on the meaning of the scriptures, most of reply’s are in a more legalistic way. Which bothers me even more. But you understand where I am coming from, it was informational to read this various opinions of things, but it also told me that we are all are not of one mind.

The journey that I have been on for the last say twelve years has been an interesting one. I have studied alot of different things from history to spiritual realms of God’s world, from author’s beliefs, to study of men of the bible, to commentaries on just about everything. But it is that one thing that seems to be missing from this equation, God. What does God say.

We seem to actually dismiss God in the storyline of things that are being ‘preached’,studied, or wrote about. God’s plan is nowhere being discussed or even know where to look for it. But it is there!

It is actually on the first page. and the last page.

I have discussed this paradigm with a few people and they are thoroughly confused in what I am talking about. The first page? Genesis? What does that have to do with anything? But it does!

Just as with God we make our plans for things, when we want to make something, when we plan a vacation, when we have a project, we have a plan. The first thing out of our mouths is ‘I am going to make ________. This is your mission statement. Plain and simple. So this is exactly what God did. God said “I am going to make my people”, and He did.

Now, obviously there was a few bumps along the way, but God’s plan has not stopped in becoming what He set out to do. His plan is still active. But most importantly, it is HIS plan. This will come to fruition in Revelation 21,22.

It is when God’s people get bogged down in the small details, or the which is right details that we make God’s people continuing to walk in the wilderness instead of coming to Him!

It is this kind of discussion with people around God’s storyline of the scriptures, not man’s. God is in His World to make it his, and we are showing him how to make it? God’s plan or Eternal Purpose(as I say, or my blog site name says) is what we should be trying to ‘SEE’ in God’s Word!

My journey

WOW!  God is not only awesome, but He is truly incitful and deep in his word’s(oral and written).

I have been in deep thought and deep study about God’s physical book that we call the bible. I don’t know where to start what God has allowed me to see in the making and understanding of his words. His not so simplistic way of telling us who he is,what he is,why he is, that has me reeling in my mind and my heart.

My sense is that at this stage of the world and the christian mind, that it will take them awhile to see the real whole picture of God. Let me say at this point here that the person of interest of the story is not of Jesus, but of God. Jesus is and was the action verb of the story. We need not miss that it was,is God’s story.

In the beginning was God, God’s story is and was first, an autobiography,an personal testimony as you may call it. God’s story,God’s life,God’s journey is the word’s that we now have as the “Bible”, an witness to this fact. God’s story is of him,for him.

I think we have forgotten this.

God’s intention is for us to not to just to see this but to be in it and of it.

I plan to continue this journey with God and you if you want to, to see what God’s intention’s were and are in the blogs ahead, so hang on for an exciting and wonderful new journey!

You do know that we have to leave Egypt, don’t you…

My understanding of the story of the bible is not that of various stories of the old testament sharing with us the trials of the children of Israel, but of something else much, much deeper.

The story of the children of Israel, is just a continuing story of God’s story of bring His people to Him and to create the Kingdom of God.

Let me help you look at this story in a different light, that you may not of seen before, although you are actually right in the middle of the story. We,the children of God are in Egypt as I speak.

Let’s examine the scenario of the story, the children of israel were in a foreign land, nothing like the land that they were used to live in. It was a harsh area, a land that you had to work hard to just survive in. Living conditions were that of the nomads that had to make home wherever they could. The people were not of the friendliest kind either, they were weird with their foreign gods and practices. And we were away from our God in a different world and a different land!

Don’t you say this every time we come home from work, each day. “Boy,today was such a out of this world experience with the people and the environment that I was in, that I just can’t stand it”

Do you see the similarity of these statements from the children of Israel and today? The Israel not only was having issues of where and why they were there, they also were burdened by working for the pharaoh of the land. They oppressed, depressed, and just out of their realm. They were in bondage, sounds familiar doesn’t it? Monday to Friday is bondage. Clothing, shelter, money are everyday bondage’s that we have.

They were in a state of working for the pharaoh to just survive in this world, yet the conditions would soon worsen. It was when they spoke up to lift up their God, that this world rebelled to God’s people that we are not special in your God. But that we are just another part of this world who has a god that is no different than the rest of us. Pharaoh matched God in some of the curses that were laid out to him, until God was unmatched in the final one.

We need to see the real picture of this insight into God. God was still unseen but seen in His leading us out of Egypt with the Pillar of cloud. This journey was a long one in the bible, but it didn’t have to happen that way. You see Israel was starting to complain as soon as they left Egypt to what they were going to eat, where they were going to sleep, where are they going and are “are we there Yet!”( Yes, this is where it all started!)

Our perception of this world or life is distorted by this journey, because of the things that the children were wanting or asking Abraham or more to the point,God. All the questions were related to the old world(Egypt), and not related to new world(land,Christ).

This new paradigm or “life” that God was trying to portray to His people was not a physical land that was filled with everything that they would ever need, but of Jesus Christ that would come to this world and take them to Him, which in by it self would give them everything they would ever need,LIFE.

Our need to escape this Egypt, our world is the answer. The next question is HOW? I will tackle that one in the next blog, stay tuned.
