Is it just me, or…..

I’m a reader,I study, I research, I explore possibilities, I never leave a stone untouched.

I ask questions, I always ask “Why”, I will look at your side, I will look at mine too.

But I never quit for the knowledge of God.

This will be a rambling of things that have gone on in the world of Christianity and it’s process that is led us to today.

Let’s start with, way back in the olden’ days, I mean When it was Just God,Son, and the Holy Spirit. Now this ring of three circle we cannot enter into, for a variety of reasons, but we can just guess. Just by the outcome of their decisions. God,Jesus, Holy Spirit were a very tight and unique unit of Holiness. It was after all, The three of eternity and beyond.

God wanted to expand his influence and purpose by creating a Universe with an representative in it. It was to become an Temple to itself. It would have a paradise of a world with all the things to sustain it with a circle of life. It would have administrator for a continued success for eternity and beyond. It would be perfect.

This world would be different than the paradigm of God tho, it would have the tainted influence of Man in a human form with the flesh to struggle with. It was the paradigm of God that was different in that it was a realm of Holiness and Love. It is this realm that we must be mindful of in the story of mankind. Holiness is a strange reality when we are looking from the outside in. But God will soon show us a way into this reality.

Where I want to go now, from this foundation of the storyline is that the thing that we are confused on in the journey to get to this Holiness, is we are trying to achieve it thru human or fleshly actions. It doesn’t work, won’t work, never will, can’t be done. Did I say that there is no hope in fleshly ways?

God, in his Son, while walking on this earth was giving us a blueprint, tips, subtle hints, out of this world picture words, or even things that we would have to imagine in our minds to perceive his ways. But one thing should(but doesn’t) all these things are not of this world! They are all from the World of God. They are Holy. They are righteous. They are of Him.

God works thru His Heavenly Realm.

God lays it out there for us to ‘See’ in His Realm.

God thru all ‘time’ has used this method of transparency for ‘US’ to ‘See’ Him.

I am a firm believer that we must ‘see’ him starting with before time started. How can we do that you say? God has worked thru mysterious ways thru time.

If God is working thru mankind, he will use man to reach itself thru the outstretched hands of God.

This will be my initial point, God uses everything that He has touched or is going to touch to let us see Him. This is where I say that mankind or even just Christianity has failed in the obvious reality that God has laid things out for us to see and to understand God even better.

God has used history of man to be used in his quest for man to know Him, but also to live it, to be the example to the world. Man has written down the stories and visions of God thru his special people throughout time. It is for this reason we have not used everything to our advantage. I believe that we are on the cusp of really being able to ‘SEE’ God for who He really is, and especially who He is to US.

I am a Preachers Kid. I have been in this Paradigm for most of my life. I have been in the circle of multiple preachers thru the years of my fathers ministry, I have been in contact with alot of the preachers kids also to continue the story. It is when I was on the other side of ‘Ministry’ that it dawned on me that this ‘ministry’ didn’t have the whole story, it was telling a story that was not complete. If you know the background of Religion you know that it has had multiple divisions along the way for the sake of the ‘right one’ being pushed. But as you can tell, these are of the human interest way of telling things, not of God. They are all like this, no exceptions.

But where did it go wrong?

In my opinion, we didn’t look at the whole picture, the whole story!

It’s like we started our story of God, in the middle of God’s story.

alas, confusing!

God has given us some new and exciting things to see and read in the last 100 years with new and old things being found in the biblical world thru archaeology. By not using these things as apart of the blueprint of God’s road map to him, would make us go down the wrong path, as I fear it already has.

I am currently reading Josephus,Apocrypha, and the Pseudepigrapha, which I fear that our predecessors have not used in their material of the blueprint to God. I am amazed at the insight it could and will give us in our journey to ‘Know’ God. I pray that you will join me in ‘Knowing’ God by knowing His life in the History of mankind.

Happy Reading!

Practicing Life

To See something one must open ones eye and look.

When Adam and Eve chose to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they(we) chose death. For it was the other tree, the tree of Life was the one full of Life.

So it is now that we must be ‘of Life’ and not death to continue to go down this path of ‘Life’. It is now a matter of how we ‘see’ life as our perspective to live in God’s creation. God having given us a blueprint of the first example of ‘Life’, we should use it. The Garden of Eden.

We should use the obvious one first, it was a garden. A garden can be different kinds, a garden of food, a garden of beauty, a garden of nature or could be of everything. By detail in the description of the beginning of life we can see that it was at the very least a garden of substance for our living, food. God’s living creature in his image was made of the dirt of creation, which shows us the degree of our life, we are to be filled of life giving beauty of other creation from God. It was God, meeting all of our needs in ways that were obvious to us and some were in ways that God was giving us special care because we are his special creation.

Nothing brings us down more than being somewhere and the scenery is bleak, black, dreary, and just plain, but God being our creator did not spare any expanse for Adam and Eve. This garden was spared no extravagant expenses of beauty and amazement. It was where ‘our’ life was to be for eternity!

Let me bring up a point that seems to always be overlooked in this scenario in the garden. This garden was designed for mankind and the creator. Yes, the creator was creating a home for him too. God walked with adam and eve in their lives to enjoy each other, it was a community of ‘all’. It was fellowship, with all involved in the process of living. It was for all intended purposes, “All in All” as God says. It was “LIFE”.

Another key message that is overlooked in this storyline is the aspect that it is “God and Adam” that was makes it a complete picture. It was Adam(adam and eve, were two, only complete when together as one.) God(God,Holy Spirit,Jesus) were there in trinity in this storyline that makes it a complete picture. This is the basic illustration of what God was conveying to mankind after the separation of man to God, that the image of God was representing the God of his creation is actually in his kingdom and God was the King. It is not complete until their is a King, a Kingdom and his people.

This storyline from above is exactly what is being restored to the creation before our eyes, if we can only see it. God’s sending his son to be the perfect adam to be the beginning of the ‘New Creation’ to start the ‘people’ of this new kingdom which God has ordained with the resurrection of the new ‘King’ upon his new kingdom to be.

This is our journey to the New Jerusalem of God and his kingdom, the description in Revelation 21-22 is our final destination. What we do in ‘LIFE’ is what will describe our Eternal Life.

It’s right there!

Mat 12:6“But I say to you that something greater than the temple is here.

Unchecked Copy Box

Mat 12:7“But if you had known what this [fn]means, ‘I DESIRE [fn]COMPASSION, AND NOT A SACRIFICE,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.

I sometimes feel that as christians we either are oblivious to the things that scriptures say or we just don’t see it fit in the theology of what we believe so we don’t use it.

Matthew 12. 6 mainly is telling us in a rather bold way that God is not going to live in a ‘temple’ built by man in any shape or form. David, Solomon both were the designer and builder of the last ‘Temple'(where God’s presence was, where sacrifice’s to God were to be given), something bigger and grander than man could ever dream of!

This is just a tidbit of a much larger picture that God was painting in his world, It was going to be even all encompassing that the original one. The larger picture could be as one has said that it began when a baby was born by a miracle. But this is another story for a later time.

What needs to ‘seen and heard’ is meaning and storyline that was being played out right in front of the jewish nation of Israel.

Mat 12:8“For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.” Jesus had become the King of all, for He had been placed in authority of his ‘Creation’ again. With the following verses Jesus goes into the synagogue and does miracle’s and healings to show that His power is greater than the ‘sabbath’ that they knew was now lesser than Jesus. God’s power was now ‘in’ the world with Jesus and his believers growing day by day.

With this knowledge of God’s new and different way of being ‘with’ and ‘in'(now) this was greater than before with the Temple or the synagogue, this is now the new norm. The ‘assembly’ was not to be a continuance of their living in a building for just on a given day but a ‘life’ of eternal living with God.

One of the misnomer’s that have been tagged in this previous thought was that it was to be a way of the ‘believers’ to be united in ‘their’ fellowship of being the godly ones, but this has neither worked for the past 600 years, let alone has not being backed by sound exegesis of this format. It is not that we are supposed to have fellowship with our fellow believers, but to ‘again’ to have fellowship with God! We will have that fellowship with our other believers with our fellowship with God!!

Just think if we were to do this today and going forward, this would be our ultimate Heaven on earth! Oh, Wait, that’s what God wants, the Garden of Eden story!

Why is this understanding not used? The only answer that I can ascertain is that God does not want it to start yet, for I believe that is when we will see and hear great things in the world of God’s kingdom coming to fruition in God’s time. I will have to admit that I believe that it has started in some degree in various ways in the US, and other places around the world. It is as the scriptures say, it will not be something that will be a ‘sign’ but will be the spirit hovering over the ‘sea’ as in the beginning of earth.

Our re-looking at the scriptures will lead us to some new and amazing insights of God’s ways if we will only ‘see and hear’ them as we read the bible. Read it again- Genesis thru Revelation.

Ask yourself, What was God’s intention in the beginning, it went wrong, man was king, but God will reign again, how was he going to do it?

God is all in all!!

It’s a Journey

Oh, you can say that again!

Growing up in ‘church’ environment of doing or saying what everyone was claiming to be as a christian, was just normal. I guess it was the right of passage of being in the ‘church’ , you just continue on with what has been going on for generations, except with some minor modifications. But that is all. Same old things, said over and over, done over and over. But Why?

Until I finally asked myself ‘Why’ this and ‘Why’ that, what is the ‘church’ trying to do, what is christianity trying to be? How did we get here as the building of Christ believers?

It’s always good to start at the point of where you have been to ‘know’ where you are now. So the logical point of starting from is to look at how things have evolved in christianity, the good, bad, and yes there’s the ugly. Following christian beginnings is a rough and messy picture to cipher, but it does get us to the point of seeing of where we interrupted our beginnings to see if we got off on a good foot.

Christian beginnings were very thinly disguised from the start of the first century, there was no defining markers of ‘identity’ as was let’s say the Judaism sect was. Paul,Peter,James, and John were of different minds and of boundary markers of this ‘new way’. What was being emphasized was the ‘title’ that someone had given you, who you ate with, or what you believed in from your God.

This, to say the least is a picture of breaking glass of the real picture of what God was designing the perfect picture. This broad synopsis of what God’s people, God’s Temple, and who God was, never really comes into focus until around the 1000 ad when Constantine set up shop for the christians in the buildings of choice and with any interference from anyone. This model then collides with Peter’s model a few hundred years down the road that just creates the ‘ugly’ as we have talked about.

My overall synopsis of where we have gotten confused and more so, just plain, not ‘seeing’ or ‘hearing’ what God thru the scriptures is telling us. It is getting past the words of scripture and ‘seeing’ what God is doing in this narrative collection of books and letters. This mistake has got to get us to re-look at the whole narrative of the bible in what the whole picture tells us.

Studying Paul of the N.T. has shed some light on the subject that we are on, that we might start our focus on. Paul was given the ‘spotlight’ for a reason in his walk to Damascus. It was a revelation of why Messiah was put into the scriptures, It was to bring back to Him the World of his creation. His after the fact of Jesus walk on the earth that he was proclaiming to make the world right to Him. His conquering of all the things that were making the world a captive of evil were now gone that the world may now be His.

Paul’s insight of the Jewish Old Covenant of what then God was doing with ‘a people'(His) was being carried over to the New Covenant but with the bindings off of his people that would make the real difference! The two covenants are really one, with the latter being freedom from man’s identity to God’s identity, where it was in the beginning.

3D old testament

20150620_162651I have used this analogy before to  show the subtlety of the old testament’s message, but I will use it again.

Have you seen the picture’s that if you look at them right at first you cannot see anything of value in the picture, this is the way we look at the  old testament now, it is only for face value. The stories of the old testament are interesting and morally relevent but there is more to them than  that at the first glance.

As with the picture on the wall that you cannot see anything without looking deep into the whole picture that you see a story that God has woven for us to see with an amazing message.

What is truly amazing with the old testament is that once you see the whole story that is being shown to us, you will now just be able to see it instead of the ‘face value’ aspect of the old testament. You will even start to see the  pieces  all fit together of all the things you have read or going to read in the OT.

Story lines in the newspapers are a ‘standard’ in the industry. So it is, in the bible. The old testament is the foundation of God’s message to us, until we ‘SEE” it, the ‘new’ will not make sense to us.

There is no “I” in Man!

We have all heard the saying that “there is no “I” in Team”. I think it has been used in alot of different ways and instances, but let me carry the same meaning to maybe  a new way of looking at the Bible.

First let us get our bearings on a key truth. In the beginning is where all the answers are to this truth. We need to go to Genesis 1:26-Then God said,”Let us make man in our image,in our likeness,…..”

We sometimes read books and other periodicals and we just seem to skim over the words and think that we get the meaning of them. I think we do the same with the bible.

Let’s look at the first two words of this passage,” Let us”. I know, and you know that “us” is more than 1 person or identity. Now,we need to really know on how many more than 1 we are talking about to really know the truth here. So let us go back to where it tells who was at the beginning.

We can use John 1:1-5. This passage tells us that in the beginning was the word, and the word was God ,and the word was with God.  Now, we need to see this in our spiritual eyes, not in our natural eyes. God was there in the beginning but in him was more than just God, but a Son(Jesus) who in Him had (life/Holy Spirit). This is why God says ” Let us” when He created his creation.

To illustrate  this concept let us use us as an example, thru all of us we have someone else in us thru appropriation, we have kids and grand-kids.  This is an example of who we are thru the generations of time. This is the example that God has given us to understand who  He is. We just need to “see Him”.

Now let us take the next two words, “make man”. Now if we can understand here that God could of said anything here. He could of said, make steve, fred, sally, kathy,or any specific name of man but He chose to use almost a generic name here to begin with. It was a starting point. He also knows that this is not going to stay one person, but many. So let us now realize that man is a corporate man, a ambassador of all subsequent mankind. This will be renamed latter in the bible to make it more personal to God, this also brings out another huge insight of God.

All throughout the bible God uses certain people of the jewish community and outside the jews realm that are instrumental in His work. But to make a point to us I believe He changes their names. The humanly names given to us are just that human. We for the most part do not give much thought to our names given to us, other than what our parents were influenced at the time. God, I believe uses names of “His world,Kingdom” to give meaning to Him. This is so very personal to Him.

But God changes that by giving us a name to have a special meaning to Him. Such examples are Abram,Sari,Saul,Simon, and many others. He later changes “Man” to “His People,Body,Church, and Bride” to show one that they are His, and that also who they are. Ultimately the one that  He is trying to express  is “His Bride” but that is another blog, so back to the subject.

The next three words are instrumental in our understanding of who we are. “in our Image”.

To illuminate this picture let me me tell you about the picture. Let me tell you about my wife. She is all about pictures, taking them, printing them, collecting them, and looking at them. You see, she is visual person who collects photos of you(I know, kinda scary, especially of her family) to not have a just a snapshot of time but it is a ongoing slideshow of someone to really know of who you really are. You can really tell alot about someone by the many “pictures” of their life. This can also be said about God.

God is so full of pictures, but it seems that we just don’t “see” the picture. God shows us many in the bible, but we fail to see all that He is trying to show us.But the one that He is trying to show us here is of the utmost importance.

His image, is who He is first, and secondly what He is.

Who He is, Father,Son,and the Holy Spirit(Life) is the simpleness of this image.

What He is, is even more simple, He is Life.

We, as an corporate creation or being, is to be mingled with Him, as an act of marriage, groom and bride, in the most “televised and talked about marriage in all the world” God and man as one!

Let us reconsider now how we view the story of the bible and read it as a corporate, bride, angle to understand what God is trying to show us in His words.
