John- The New Kingdom

I have always thought that the Gospel of John was the ‘Crescendo’ of the story of the Bible. But to really know what it is really saying is key to knowing what the beginning of the bible is telling us. All aspects of the bible are important.

I believe that for us to understand the Gospel of John, we have to read and understand what Genesis,Exodus, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy tell us in the first hints of God’s story. It is crucial that we do this. Each one of these books tells us an very important segment of the storyline, each one a different part, not one more important than the other, but important. They are historical, but they also lay the groundwork or foundation to the Gospel of John in the realization the the story is much bigger and is from a different world. The books of the bible do this in various themes that it incites us to look deeper into God’s eyes and soul to know.

Let me point out something right here at this point, That God is so amazing at his logical and illogical things that he brings us to in our world, even tho it makes us stop and ponder and think and be in the mind of our creator. One mind, One Spirit. Even the most studious bible reader may not catch why John’s gospel is in the order that it is, it is there for a reason.

John’s gospel, is the final frontier of God’s Heaven Trek. It is what comes to fruition when all things have been put back to rights. (this is statement that one of my authors says that puts it exactly the way it needs to be said) God has created a storyline that has wonderful beginning that takes a fork in the road, then he plans for that storyline to comeback to the original road to put things back to rights!

God created a Kingdom in the beginning. It was called the Garden of Eden, it was the realm where God(King),Garden of Eden(the land), and his people (christians) are to reign together forever. It was Heaven on earth! Let’s stop again, to define something that has historically been misidentified as to what it was,Heaven.

If we realize that all of us, now and past, and future people that are born will be citizens of the earth. It is just obvious where we have our citizenship. We also have a citizenship that is subletted even more by the country, or state, or providence that we live in. Our world is one of our making by who we are and by how we see fit to rule ourselves as a society. We have a plethora of ways to do this all around the world.

But it is different when we talk about the Creator who created everything we see, everything we participate in, everything that we have, and everyone around us. God created everything for ………..MAN! Not man for the world, as everyone seems to think. Now think of the directionality of the phrases of this statement. God created everything for Man. God created the Kingdom(earth) for man! Everything! including himself, God talked to adam and eve in the Garden of Eden, He walked with them daily with their Creator! How cool was that! A God actually having a connecting with his creation.

This is a stark contrast later in the story of the roman and greek stories being far off from their ‘so called’ creations that they never saw them or talked to them, they had to make themselves the replica’s of them as a idol in their ‘temples’ to worship. Now how is god a god if you are to make a ‘image’ of them with your own hands?

God made his own image of himself. US! WOW!!!! We are HIS Image!! Guess what, He made us as an image of Him, in His own Temple! The Earth!! WOW, how neat is that! God wants to be with His creation again!

Can you see it Now? Look back at the beginning of Genesis 1-2 chapters to see the creation of the world, Now look at what John’s Gospel is saying and foreshadowing of things to come. IT IS THE SAME!!

It is the exact same picture that God made in the beginning that he is restoring back to rights!!

This is the Storyline of the scriptures that God has made and restored to Him the ‘Eternal Purpose’!!!

Christianity, what is it saying?

Don’t know about you, but I think they are saying the wrong thing.

Studying the New Testament, from Matthew to Revelation, it seems to be pushing this thing called “Kingdom of God”. What I don’t hear from chrisitanity is “Kingdom of God”, but I seem to be hearing week after week, we need to go out and bring the sheep in out of the cold, and let us take care of them.

Although, that last statement might sound right to us(only because we have heard it from the pulpit),but the storyline we must hear is that we are now in the “Kingdom of God” with God and his people molded into one, God in us,us in Him. This is the story of the “Restoration of God’s World” that is told in the New Covenant.

We for to long have taken this storyline upon ourselves to take it further in our own humanistic ways. Which totally is not what God has said in scripture. What we done, I believe, in Christianity, and Catholicism have seen the literalization of God’s word’s to Peter ” I will build MY Church upon you”. We have taken this as our War cry to use for us to take it further on ourselves to champion the call to do this on our own, No God needed! God’s exclamation with Peter was a call on humanity was one of this is the first stone(Peter realized that Jesus was the Messiah, first to acknowledge this, even from the disciples)He would be put next to the cornerstone(Himself) to start the ‘building’ of His Body(Ekklesia). This is the ‘Picture’ that was to be ‘seen’ by the disciples and to the world.

Jesus presence in the human world was first an ‘on hands experience’ to be with his fellow humans(He was 100% man, and 100% God) He was showing man that His God side was being shown too, in his healing people, out of this world wisdom,His power, His New talk of the things to come, in his people to be ‘New’ in his Creation of the World.

This was a foretaste of the ‘New World’ of God’s Kingdom. God was inviting all to come and join him for this new experience.

If this is not what you are hearing from christianity, then we must correct our insight to ‘see’ that God is calling us to his Kingdom. It is now but not yet.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” John 18:36

Almost, but not yet.

This title is a take off of Jesus’s statement of “The Kingdom is now, but not yet”

This message has been talked and preached about for last 70-80 years, but it has misguided in it’s interpretation. Without getting into why it was wrong or what was wrong, we will say that it is starting to be put in the right perspective in people and is being taught or preached to the right avenue. There are alot of people that are spreading the word of God in the right direction, but they are missing a key ingredient to make the storyline complete and actually the ingredient that will put the whole story together.

The beginning. The beginning of creation! Creation was and is what God wanted. It always was. This is the only thing He wanted. To be with His creation. If this aspect of the storyline is not started with in telling the rest of the story as to God is again bringing us back to the beginning of creation and setting us up in the Kingdom of God as like the Garden of Eden.

The page has been turned and the real story is being shared to us that God is working in the world to tell his story to all and for all to know and become apart of it. It will be a joyous day when it comes and Heaven will truly be again here on earth!!

Trying to get past the fluff

I want to start the John series in the next few days. I was sidetracked saturday with an long and intense chat on facebook with a few friends. It was a topic of one’s friends theology and the opposing view, mine. There were four guys discussing the subject thru out the day, 12 hours later we wrapped it up! We all brought up our thoughts and beliefs on the subject to sway our justification for our beliefs. It is this that I seek to gain the influence of other people to bring out people and their foundation of faith in God.

It was in this discussion that it came to me, that christianity has looked for salvation in the scriptures, mainly in the new testament and cherry picked verses to create a scenario for saving. It has been a concern for christians on the ‘How’ we may be reinstated to our original status. It is when we justify the varying verses to connect each other to make a plan of salvation. What we must realize that God has had the plan of working with his creation from the time of denial of God’s authority. The lack of starting with the whole storyline of this saving journey from the starting with an example of people such as the Jewish people of Canna. There is a lack of knowledge of the deeper themes, types, foreshadow, allegory, and most of all the eternal purpose of God.

There is not a ‘knowing’ of the whole storyline of God and His Eternal Purpose throughout the scriptures.

It is the fact that christianity has separated the story of Israel from itself, that has started the confusion of the storyline that God created. Another problem with this storyline is that Christianity has changed the story to be an individual story of salvation, rather than the ‘whole of Creation’ which God is telling us from day one from Genesis.

When we set ourselves ‘straight’, in our theology of God, we will not only be amazed but excited for the whole world. Let me just say this straight up and get it over with, Denominations have killed the Christian experience. Let me explain why.

Denominations were created by men who stood for a structure of beliefs in the aspects of an institution. It was designed for the foundation and the walls not to be penetrated by other beliefs or exploring of others. For whatever reason this is also a trap to keep people ‘in’ a vacuum of belief and not ‘let’ or trap the group into ‘not’ looking outside this realm.

This is the ‘issue’ that I was coming across with my discussions with some of the participants on the subject. There seems to be a lack of understanding of the bible and its meaning. Christians need to first ‘read’ the Bible, from front to back! Then next study the bible from front to back! Someone once asked me “How long should one read the bible and know it” my answer was the program preached on sunday to read it in a year, or two years. I told them the “I thought it should be around 50 yrs or so, if that.” Which took them back at my answer. I personally have been engaged in the study of the bible for around 20 years.

This is one of the reasons that I have pushed in the last 10 years to living and saying this that we need to separate ourselves from the model of institutions, to escape the confinement of said rules of salvation. Being a christian(believing in God) should drive us to search the word and to eat it’s words to actually ‘know’ God. This is our desire to be in him and Him in us.

Let us be able to take it upon ourselves that God wants us His People to ‘be’ with Him, eternally forever.

Ironic things

When we go back and look at scripture three or four times in what it really means, or we see things that we never saw before, it makes it well worth the digging into the scriptures to know God.

One such thing that I have perceived is the story of Jesus’s birth and the storyline behind it. Do we really just sit and look at what all the pieces mean to the story and why they do? Now, this might seem strange or unimportant but I think it is a piece of the story. Mary, being the woman,(as opposed to the man) in the story is in the heritage of Eve. Eve,(both are to be convicted of the crime,Adam) being the first one to against God in the Garden, is where the journey will begin in the downward swirl of sin. The founder of sin, being in the wrong, to be corrected has got to stem from this angle of righteousness. This can only be fulfilled from the lineage of the woman. It will then follow thru to Mary,(the woman) who gives birth to the Holy Child. Jesus, being both man and God, has the lineage of man and his restitution in Him to correct the lie of man.

Secondly, this follows thru one more phase with Christ the Messiah, and His redeeming power upon man. It is within Christ that He has a women within Him that He gives birth to His body, and Bride. This ‘Bride’ is, you guessed it the woman still in the story. God has a way of keeping us in the storyline that doesn’t go far from it’s intention. God’s love for His bride has made a long journey to get us thru the entire story, but he has. In Revelation 21-22, He continues it still, with a Wedding Feast with all invited to celebrate the communion of God and His Bride.

How do you ‘see’ the scriptures?

I might be all over the place with this blog, I’m feeling like I need to point out alot of things to everyone! Yes, it’s my turn! lol

My life’s journey has brought me thru alot of things and places because of my heritage thru my fathers’ line of work. You see he was a pastor for all his life and it took our family to some different cities and different states. Which I enjoyed them all as a kid, I didn’t know anything else but to enjoy it. It was a adventure to me as just a new place to check out.

It is in this adventure that I have looked back and tried to surmise the things that my father was doing as a pastor to people. Now, being old as I am I have forgotten some things that occurred or where they happened but their are things that have stuck out in my memories whether they be bad or good, they have. The memories that I have are the ones that were of my father, and my mother that were of the ‘teacher’ method of shepherding people. Let me say at the outset that I believe that this method of ‘teacher’ was the correct mode of said ‘pastor’, but I fear that it was all in vain, because this way was shallow in it’s presentation. What I have seen and read of various authors, pastors, evangelist’s, is that there was a ‘Theology’ first, then a foundation of scripture that fit the scenario. This is backwards.

It is the scripture that should create our understanding of God. This is the model which should of been emphasized from the very early beginning. The good news is that it seems that this is starting to come out thru the works of alot of theologians who have put in tireless work in digging out the storyline of the bible. It doesn’t come out easy, it is searching for God’s work in everything that He orchestrates thru his hands. But it is making a difference in how we see the bible as the word of God, and his people.(for more information on this, just make a comment to me at the end)

Another thing that is closely tied to this is the failure of the previous story, and even now, that there was and is a failure of the people of God that are failing to read and ‘know’ the scriptures! I don’t know for sure what the reason is, behind this, but I have a few. Lazy on the individual, lazy to know the pastor will tell them sunday, I have heard it before, read all the stories in the bible, doesn’t pertain to me, and the list goes on. People have not, and were not told of the storyline of the scriptures from day one of their interest in God. This is major flaw of christianity to the world. We have not presented the God of our World to the people in the right way.

Our way was to tell the stories of all the great people of the bible and their stories, to impress them of such great men or women to loft up our God and his purpose. But that is to shallow. God started from the beginning, Genesis to start this journey and a blueprint of what God was going to do in the now, and the latter. In which the now and the latter were the same. Compare Genesis 1-2 with Revelation 21-22. God’s book should be read and ‘known’ from beginning to end. There is storyline, WE HAVE TO FOLLOW IT! The New Testament(covenant, I prefer) is the continuation from the Old Testament(old covenant). This brings out the biblical thought with using Covenant, instead of ‘Testament’.

I would recommend to people to get a few people together and start in genesis and just get a fresh perspective on how God has put very specific things into place and also people to make his story come alive for us. Go slow and methodical, to ‘see’ God’s design of his people and his Kingdom.

You might have a revelation in doing it this way by realizing that ‘we’ can all become ‘one’ in our ‘knowing’ and ‘seeing’ God, and not be split in our ways as we are now!

It’s the eternal purpose,people!

I sometimes wonder how christianity has gotten where they are by what I read in the scriptures.

Maybe if you read it enough times you start to see things that weren’t there the first time, or second time, or third time. But it is that continuing searching that it starts to show that underlying theme or storyline that come into focus for you. You just wonder with the pharisee’s and the saduccees that were known for their reading of the scriptures over and over again, why they didn’t see things that were connected to each other that would spin itself into a deep and amazing story for mankind. Maybe their ritual, or tradition was to just ‘say’ the scriptures was just a mundane chore for the day? Maybe, this was the problem with Israelite’s in that they were to much in the tradition of reading the scriptures that their was no meaning in it.

I have come to rely on history. In history we see not only actual events of time, but of the social events before and after said big event. It is how we base our understanding of mankind in all thru time. It is in this realm of digging into history we see even more and more of people in their own stories, communities of understanding everything around them and their actions and beliefs to those events. We, right now are doing the same thing, we just might not know it, we are acting and reacting to all the events around us, and to some extent to things far away from us with advent of the internet.

I have become over the last twenty years have been that forensic detective that doesn’t just ‘see’, or ‘read’, or ‘hear’ something without digging past the obvious things. This should be the mark of Jesus follower, digging deeper every day that you are a christian. What I have learned thru the years of studying the bible is that it is a goldmine of information about God and his people and his world. I once was asked ‘How long should it take to read the bible?’, the usual ‘church’ answer would be the 1 or 2 year plan that the church gives out. But this is not the ‘idea’ for what the bible is. It is to ‘know’ the Bible! My answer to the question was “50 years”, I think my answer may have been to short in its answer, tho! We can only scratch the surface with God. But I do believe that we should ‘see’ what God is telling us and showing us on what his intentions for us.

The models of what we have perceived to be the existence of God’s people in the world and how they are to be in the world, and how they are to meet, act, or to exist has be skewed in that we have not understood the eternal purpose of God.

I want to point out that this is because of a few things. One is the misunderstanding of God’s eternal purpose in mankind. We are very, very limiting of God. We have put God into thousands of little buildings all across the U.S., when the scriptures says the opposite. God will be, and is Everywhere. This was and is His Goal. But we have failed to see this in His New Covenant. It is actually following the first covenant of the Jews with God in that we were supposed to build a temple and place God there!? What’s with that? Just maybe we have not reached the understanding of the New Covenant with Christianity yet? I don’t know either. But I do ‘see’ the dawn of the light coming into the world.

The second thing, is that the failure of christians failing to read and to study the scriptures in a way that is done in a more deep and investigative way to find the truth of God. We have realized way to much on the person in front of congregation to give them snippets from the bible, as does the media on the national news. Look how that has gotten us! Until we realize that as a God believer that we dig deeper and deeper into God’s word to know him. This is not going to be a easy fix, but it can be done with the fortitude of God’s people. Where two or three people are gathered together, there also is God. He will guide and direct us in his word. I strongly suggest in having a small group of people that are in agreement in your quest in finding the truth in the word of God.

The third thing is maybe(it is) the glue that holds this all together. Jesus died on the cross, rose again to be with the father, it is in this action that God has sent someone to follow us in our journey here on earth to unite God’s people together. It is the “Holy Spirit”, this is our “Christ is in Us, We are in Him” fact that we seem to forget or just don’t understand. I tend to think the latter. Christ living ‘in’ us, We ‘in’ Him means we are in fellowship with Him, and We are ‘WORSHIPING’ Him. This is the design of God’s ultimate purpose! Why do we not see this? The Holy Spirit is our temple, church, body, bride whatever you want to define it as. (It is not to have a fellowship with other people in a building, it is to have fellowship(worship) our God. Period. This reasoning of other people as fellowship has to go away to understand the true meaning of worshiping of God!)

Now, taking those three things as corrections in our understanding of our eternal purpose as God’s people, and He our God we should be able to ‘see’,’know’,’hear’,what God’s purpose for us in the world, it is that ‘WE’,All His People are His, unto all the nations, forever and ever! Praise His Name!

Let’s get deeper!

I have blogged on this subject a few times in the past with great intentions of making a stir of things.

With the new environment that we live in these days, I believe it is more relevant to do so, studying the word in small groups, either with family members or a few friends. I would say no more than 10 people to keep it personal and not as a meeting with a leader. I have been in a few of these groups a couple of times, and the atmosphere was very good in conducive to speaking up in the group to chime in with your speaking.

These types of get together is key to broadening your mindset of things of the scriptures, but to also become a consensus of one mind after awhile of the main message of the bible. One thing that has helped me understanding the ‘of one mind’ mentality is not just writing blogs, but to read blogs of other people and then to watch the comments come in to the blog of various opinions and statements. For one, it was very entertaining but more importantly showed me on how far apart everyone is on the meaning of the scriptures, most of reply’s are in a more legalistic way. Which bothers me even more. But you understand where I am coming from, it was informational to read this various opinions of things, but it also told me that we are all are not of one mind.

The journey that I have been on for the last say twelve years has been an interesting one. I have studied alot of different things from history to spiritual realms of God’s world, from author’s beliefs, to study of men of the bible, to commentaries on just about everything. But it is that one thing that seems to be missing from this equation, God. What does God say.

We seem to actually dismiss God in the storyline of things that are being ‘preached’,studied, or wrote about. God’s plan is nowhere being discussed or even know where to look for it. But it is there!

It is actually on the first page. and the last page.

I have discussed this paradigm with a few people and they are thoroughly confused in what I am talking about. The first page? Genesis? What does that have to do with anything? But it does!

Just as with God we make our plans for things, when we want to make something, when we plan a vacation, when we have a project, we have a plan. The first thing out of our mouths is ‘I am going to make ________. This is your mission statement. Plain and simple. So this is exactly what God did. God said “I am going to make my people”, and He did.

Now, obviously there was a few bumps along the way, but God’s plan has not stopped in becoming what He set out to do. His plan is still active. But most importantly, it is HIS plan. This will come to fruition in Revelation 21,22.

It is when God’s people get bogged down in the small details, or the which is right details that we make God’s people continuing to walk in the wilderness instead of coming to Him!

It is this kind of discussion with people around God’s storyline of the scriptures, not man’s. God is in His World to make it his, and we are showing him how to make it? God’s plan or Eternal Purpose(as I say, or my blog site name says) is what we should be trying to ‘SEE’ in God’s Word!

Idols

They have been around ever since man has been alive.

In fact, we made ourselves one.

Man has needed to give glory to something to which it never was meant to be given. If I was to give a full list of things that we have given Idol status we would need a full day to write them down. But let’s just list a few to understand where we are going.

There is always the big three that is always mentioned in conversations: Money,Power and Sex. Now let first set the stage with some context for this, the paramaters for this is for our context, this is for the United States. The stage will be different for other places, or other area’s of the world for various reasons.

Now I think that we could if we wanted to really delve into the very deep perspective on how and why we got to these things, but we will keep it shallow for now. If we use just the three that have been mentioned, We must understand that where we are coming from using these three.

All these are coming from the perspective of humanness, where do these things to survive in our human world, without them we would be irrelevant. So we would believe. These are the things that we believe that without them there is no existence. For this is all we can see to do to survive.

Mankind is looking within it’s self to solve the paradigm of man in charge. It was when adam and eve decided to go out on their own to be the King and Queen of their own realm, that we set the stage for all these issues. Our failure to see that mankind is still considered ‘good’ in God’s eyes we are still flawed. God made us this way, for a reason. We were to realize that we needed Him, to be whole. To be relevant to be in his Kingdom, we have to be a citizen of the Kingdom itself, one of the realm, the paradigm.

The story of the Garden of Eden in the scriptures was the storyline of all the issues that we are talking about today. It seems that for the most part, what is always talked about in this storyline is the last part of the story, until recently that some people have been bringing up the first part of the story. In fact, my blog’s title “Eternal Purpose”, points to this very thing. It’s the story that never really gets talked about.

It’s the story of God’s design for us. It’s the story of God’s design for us. Let this sink in. God had/has a plan. It was/is for us. To be with God. For God to prepare a place for us. To plan the way of life for God and his creation’s. The world, the environment, the way of life, the Kingdom.

It was the paradigm.

But mankind had other idea’s.(we know where this goes)

God is in control, and now beginning to re-take shape into the one that God originally designed. God’s Kingdom is now being re-made with man and Himself being the way that He had in the Garden of Eden.

God will be worshipped, no more idols will be worshipped. Only God.

Heaven and Earth will be joined together again! It’s coming!

The bible’s storyline is……..

This seems to be an issue with the bible reading people. The readers are well aware of all the multiple stories that in the scriptures but there is no understanding of the overall theme or as I say “Eternal Purpose” of God.

I have always claimed you have to start at the beginning with everything. It is not anything different with the scriptures. Genesis 1-2 is crucial to knowing the details of ‘heaven and earth’ as God creation. It is also important that we look past the words of the scriptures and see the ‘forest’,in this case it would be a very large forest! lol.

The ‘forest’ that we have to look at is ‘what’ is ‘heaven’ and what is ‘earth’? What do they represent? and why?

If we first look at ‘heaven’, we must realize that God is ‘of’ it and resides in this realm. It is holy, righteous and Godly. The creator of all is in everything, because He is everything. This ‘heaven’ is the paradigm of all existence being God indwelt. God is God. This realm is the existence of God in all it’s worth.

This realm of ‘heaven’ is what God desires for his creation, he gave them life in many ways to experience on his creation of ‘earth’. It was to be two spheres together overlapping each other so as to become one. (This is latter said in the scriptures with adam and eve, with the same kind of life giving result).

Earth being God’s creation for mankind to be his home, was ‘life’ to the extreme. It was what no one could imagine, let alone describe with a million words. God was the creator, designer and best of all, the host of the wonderful garden. This earth was home.

God’s design was incorporating two realms together, heaven and earth. God and man. Creator and created. Designer and designee. Man and woman. It is illustrated many ways throughout the scriptures to tell and show us that this is the example of completeness. Two halves, together made whole.

It is now that the one, man has seen to split with the heavens and God, to be free from the creator, and to be an independent creation and not be associated with God, its creation. The realms have now separated and mankind is running on its own. God, now disappointed, has not left his creation but is keeping his eye on them to bring them back into the realm of God and man.

God does this when he ‘brings out'(connotation of the exile) abraham of Ur to bring his people out of this miry clay back to ‘heaven’. God’s eternal purpose is still to have the creator and creation in what is supposed to be a intertwined life of God and man.

This storyline is ‘not used in for the most christianity’s dogma but the one of ‘for all of mankind has sinned, and must confess their individual sins and come to the Lord’. We must relook at this dogma, with the intent of finding proof that this was the message to the Israelites as God was dealing with them. Was this the message in the new testament? Jesus’s message was bold and to the point, that God’s kingdom was at hand, and that it will come to its fullness in time.

We must as christianity relook at the scriptures at to what the ‘eternal purpose’ is in God’s word!
